A trebuchet is a different machine from a catapult. Trebuchets usually use momentum to hurl a projectile, whereas Catapults typically fire their projectiles by building up elastic potential.
@@alecgarza7987 it’s a massive difference between the two siege machine. A trebuchet would be used for destroying walls where a catapult can be used to destroy walls that are weak they are used as a modern day mortar. A trebuchet would be like the modern equivalent of an a10 warthog doing a depleted uranium brrrrrttttttt run and basically anything that was there isn’t anymore
First and foremost Thank You Chris P for sponsoring the box, and allowing us to get more insight into this TCG. The only thing I've seen on this is on this channel, and the cards do look phenomenal. Honestly it just looks very interesting, if I knew there would be a demand in my area for it, I would love to try it, but not sure, if there cheap entry points, I may have to look more into it down the road, so many MTG decks I want to work on first (followed by some Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon and Digimon after that). I may have only started really playing magic around OG Theros, but have always appreciated the old school art from the sets of the past, so this does look exceptional to me. I agree with the Dreadmaw assessment. Personally I want one just to try out in Gishath. Combine that with the New Ghalta and you have some real fun to be had. I 100% agree with the Land Deed looking like a Grim Tutor. Another awesome opening from the channel, a huge thank you to you and Chris P for providing us with the channel and product to enjoy this intriguing new product (least new to me). Keep up all the amazing work and I'm def looking forward to what you have in store for us next. #Roadto20k
trebuchet, siege engine utilizing a long arm and the principles of leverage to launch projectiles. The trebuchet was one of the top choices for artillery in ancient and medieval warfare, having the ability to throw heavier projectiles farther than earlier catapults could......................This is from a Google search, so it appears it the same as a catapult, just upgraded?
I got the kickstarter precons and it’s very fun. It’s basically magic over a grid. There is a lot of different tech and a lot less instant interaction.
I backed the kickstarter, and have played a couple games. It’s definitely fun, and calling it a mix of MTG and chess is very accurate. I’m looking forward to my beta product that just shipped, and cracking/playing this game more.
I love the strategy of placing your sites as well as how many sites you want to have. When to draw them or play them it is a really fun game, even though I have only played twice with the print and play set.
It plays great, there isn’t instants in the game except for one (dodge roll) but it has that chess aspect to it and it’s super fun. Even with the base set, between the sites, the dynamics of the board itself and the size of the set it seems like there is so many possibilities as far as deck building goes.
This game is beautiful. I got 2 alpha boxes sitting sealed in my safe and opened my first beta on christmas, my 2nd pack ever had the philosopher's stone! So now I'm gonna have to get at least 2 more lol
looks quite cool! can't look at it without my MtG 'goggles' on though, the full art on the back really reminds me of the unstable tokens. Pretty cool art though, wonder how the gameplay is!
This is also expensive. The Facebook community group is full of pretty pretentious, elitist guys who are all just asking each other "How are my pulls?" "What do you think this is worth?". I backed kickstarter, the obnoxious people who were attracted to this chased me away. Seriously cringey calling this game legendary, iconic and historic without it earning anything.
@@MrAfterwordSorry you feel this way, but this has not been my experience of the community. The game is really fun, strategic, and I imagine it will one get more interesting and have more depth, as we go.
It's all fomo right now. If you're okay with a $140 box of cardboard gathering dust after ten minutes of gambling on opening packs, then go for it. If you want to play, get the starter decks. Most Sorcery fans are just gambling addicts hoping for a big hit to show off to strangers online so they feel important.
Pass. It's the alpha fomo all over again. People on the Facebook community page flooding it with "How'd I do?" Or "What are these worth?" posts for the next few weeks. People hoping for the big hit so they can show off to strangers. 🤦 Put your money into real investments.
lol, only the hottest game this year out sold MTG the whole summer 2023...... mtg players think every TCG plays like magic, SMFH RIP the game LITERALLY plays on A GRID, along with playing on rules of XYZ Axis but it plays like MTG LLLMMMAAOOO
there is no box topper with beta, that was specifically for alpha for meeting kickstarter goals and having shipping delays. going forward there will only ever be 36 packs.
@@CRACKINGPACKSMTG thats interesting. Im just repeating what was said in the official sorcery discord awhile ago. Something mustve changed between then and now.
The art is so cool! It definitely gives that old school vibe.

The art certainly brings back that old magic feel

Congrats on the pulls! The foil at @12:19 is one of my fav. Thanks for making this video and I hope you get a chance to jam some games!
These cards are so pretty. Definitely a strongpoint with the game.
I got the kickstarter precons and it’s very fun. It’s basically magic over a grid. There is a lot of different tech and a lot less instant interaction.
I just came from the other sorcery video just to see the art, amazing
I backed the kickstarter, and have played a couple games. It’s definitely fun, and calling it a mix of MTG and chess is very accurate. I’m looking forward to my beta product that just shipped, and cracking/playing this game more.
Great artwork! Every card is fullart! Very fun to play! This box had some great pulls!

I think a trebuchet has a sling and a counterweight and a catapult has a fixed position. Might not be right but I think that is how it is
Totally different medieval devise.
Havnt played or looked a lot into past seeing how much the alpha boxes are going for and wishing i would have backed the kickstarter lol
Now is the time to get in, as Beta just released and is available in LGS’ and online. 😉

They do look very appealing
It definitely looks interesting
Sheeesh y’all love some foil last pack magic 🎉

The next mtg, wasn’t that FAB?
F&B is still the next mtg.
@@obadijahparksLove my FaB. Bright Lights is the first set to have me excited for any TCG, since Phyrexia All Will be One
They look like board game cards to me. Doubt they'll come to NZ though.
The game is already in NZ and the creator lives in NZ. 😉
My gf and I have been playing for a few months now. She is NoT a TCG player historically but is now hooked.
Unlike Magic, the foils in Sorcery do not curl. That is a bonus.
Only the Alpha had a box topper.
Update: I was wrong, my beta box has a box topper.
That Minor Explosion foil was pretty cool
Videos and Pictures do not do the artwork justice. Cards look so much better in person.
I’m excited for this game
You're a wizard, Ellis!
Thank you for the box opening!
Finally! I want to crack ay least 4 box and make some deck!
That new beef!
Yeah, I entered the tcgplayer raffle. I don't know how to play it yet.
Love the videos!!!
did my LGS screw me over? i preordered 2 boxes and didnt get a headless horseman in eather of them, and they knew nothing about them
Don't know anything about this game but I like the art cleaner then og magic but does give a darker more adult feel. Def high fantasy vibes
looks quite cool! can't look at it without my MtG 'goggles' on though, the full art on the back really reminds me of the unstable tokens. Pretty cool art though, wonder how the gameplay is!
All foils have all the value except super unique cards also have some nice value. I only collect.
Sorcery is looking good, I don’t know if I’d call it the new magic, but might think about trying it
A caterpolt is spring-loaded. The other is counter wiat
It will be just as popular as Mtg soon!
Booster box on the way!
Beautiful cards.
Got to play a few times and I love this game! Better than MTG🤯
SEEMS REALLY COOL
Is this the game that Richard Garfield’s been working on? Seems pretty cool
Oh nevermind! This is from the dude that helped design Path of Exile….super dope game
Nice game ! Love the nostalagia feeling :) is it possible to still get first release boxes ?
Yeah 700 or so on ebay
Its super fun and unique. Def mtg meets chess.
Anyone know the difference between the Alpha and Beta boxes visually? Beta looks identical to the Alpha i swear
its easy, but also a securty feature. they put a alpha or beta symbol on the front of the box underthe logo.
Don't know anything about this one but the art is sweet.
Seems interesting, and with how expensive mtg is about to be this could potentially start scratching my TCG itch.

I'll be interested to see where this game ends up in the future.
Do yall have any Beta boxes for sale??
Art is similar to the art from quest for the grail ccg
Might be good but I can't afford another TCG 😅
Hmm, I'm not sure if I want to open my box or not.

Never saw these pack before
No box topper for Beta!
If not MTG then why MTG shaped?
this man passing over $100 cards just because they not shiny, lol. its a 403 card set and sorcery been on TCG player for a while now RIP
Still not familiar with the game, but that playmat is sure beefy 🥩💯!
🎉
Great game!
I thought these packs would be NSF lol
Sorcery is an OSR TCG? 😂

all my other beta boxes have had toppers so far
I think there is actually
The Boxes do have toppers, they're just not the same as Alpha - Beta boxes come with a Sorcerer and 3 Rubble
@@CRACKINGPACKSMTG thats interesting. Im just repeating what was said in the official sorcery discord awhile ago. Something mustve changed between then and now.
There is 100% a topper in beta, but every once in a while this happens with all tcg’s. Happened to me with double masters og 😢
