The ITB pants would have been perfect if they had the pockets for knee and hip armor. I have no idea why those would be removed. They don't come with armor anyways. It just takes away the customer's option to wear them how they want.

Agreed, I was almost sold on them.

Great pants! It would be cool if you could put the padding pockets in the hips of the "in the boot" version.

Why would you not let me put pads in the ITB pants?? Will the over boot pants still stuff into MX boots relatively well?

Why should a recreational trail rider wear in boot vs over? What conditions or riding style determines that? I see MX is only in. Dual sport is mostly over. But trail riding?

Does the OTB verion cut for weaing kneebrace under? I have a very bulky Leatt Dual Axis kneebrace and it fit tightly under my current Latitude pants, so I'm thinnking of switching it.

Yes, the OTB and ITB versions of Dakar pants are designed to accommodate knee braces.

@@KLIMMotorcycle even the OTB? I've read the review of the previous Dakar pants version, and they said the OTB is tight at the knee when wearing kneebrace inside it.

@@minhtannguyen5758 Good question. The latest version of Dakar pants are more mobile than before. Of course, knee braces will take up more space than smaller knee pads, but the pants are designed to accommodate braces. Some body types may have more or less tightness than others in the knees, so part of that also depends on the person.

Not what they used to be. The Cordura is down to feather-weight, the beefy zippers are gone, there is no stretch at the cuff, and maybe worst of all there are no pockets to hold knee or hip pads. Who makes a serious MC pant and then doesn't put pockets for armor? These are a far cry from my 2016 Klim Dakar ITB pants. It's a shame that Klim has cheaped-out. I love those pants, but these share only a name. TOTAL FAIL. Klim, you've lost a customer.

From what I’ve researched, any “serious” rider would go for larger strap on knee pads or knee braces worn under the pants rather than slip in inserts.
