I’ve got a ridiculously strong impulse to rub my face on it.
Don’t know why, I’m not into ASMR or satisfying videos, I’m a farmer so I could just go outside and rub my face on the real thing all day, but this 3D printed grass looks like it would feel simply spectacular!
Not to mention even with how uniform it is it’s more realistic than all the fake grass or turf out there. Now let me roll around in a field of it and rub my face all up in it.

For enrichment purposes if other living green things aren’t available I totally think that this could be neat if only for the use of the recycled materials to get them out of our landfills. I would say however that there’s no need to take materials that could be living and green to make fake items. We just have a lot of people here and we need to borrow not steal from the environment (e.g. pay it back so that it can thrive like us.)

That turned out great! But I think it would make a better brush than it would grass. You could paint with it, clean your keyboard, exfoliate with it. The possibilities are endless.

@@eh6971 I'd never heard of that, but after looking into it, it seems to be as much about technique as anything.
Fortunately with 3d printing, it's possible to vary the thickness/stiffness of the bristles to personal taste.
I've got really thick hair, and I need good stiff bristles to get all the way in there.
@@Curdledgorilla I'm conjecturing here, and I'm sure it would vary by type of plastic, but in general plastic brushes create a lot of static electricity. I switched to wood and it's been fantastic, personally (for me, static makes my hair much tanglier). Not trying to discourage printing your own experimental brush/brushes, of course (I think it's a very cool notion actually), nor saying that static will necessarily cause harm or that all plastic will create it, just wanted to toss this out there in case it's a useful consideration to weigh.

Nifty, but I'd be interested to see this grass done with two-color co-extrusion filament using both the light and dark green. The subtle shading could make for an interesting effect.

That'd be hilarious! Thinner filament like this are really brittle from what I've seen, so you'd probably have to find a specially made kind in order for that to work. Not sure if that exists, but then again, I'm not the one with thousands of dollars and months of free time to spend on 3D printing...

Well you could definitely make all kinds of custom bristle cleaning brushes, which is far more economical, and you can custom fit for each workplace.
Personally, if I'm going to spend a ton of time making artistic grass, I'm gonna do it with thread. It'll probably take a lot longer, but the results are breathtaking. I made an incredible blueish green patch from thread and it not only looks cool. I feels amazing to the touch.
