  • Before starting a branding project I always hold a strategy meeting with the top executives in the company to understand the company and it's goals. My new process is a combination of ideas I took from the books "Designing Brand Identity" (amzn.to/2rQhW4e) & "Creative Strategy & The Business Of Design" (amzn.to/2Lc7sVI)

My most recent project is working with a startup on their branding and website. It's in an industry I know nothing about (which they knew when hiring me). This is the first start up I've worked with (normally work with small businesses) and I've been feeling incredibly overwhelmed with all the information there is to learn. I've read Creative Strategy and the Business of Design, and absolutely love it. It is a lot to digest and I was feeling unsure of how to actually apply all of it in a cohesive manner. After watching this video I feel 100x better seeing how you conducted the strategy session and organized a way of gathering that information. I always forget that I don't have to do it "alone" and that my client is there to help me as well.
    Great video, thanks!

its youtube and the lack of people searching for this info.you can dangle info/the path to sucess infont of someone and they still wont bite.people complain about working but never even try to learn a high paying skill.look at dan loks channel, chris do,cereal entrepreneur etc....tons of value yet low subs considering the value and mass of people it could help.truth is not everyone is looking, not everyone puts in the effort to learn and even fewer actually do things to get there.

Hi! I've been following your videos for a while, and, considering that you did one, and a sort of mentoring, video with Chris Do, can you say, during this time, 2018, for this work you were doing, how much were you charging? Not how much do you charge now for this same work (most likely better yet), but if you don't mind saying it too I don't mind knowing it... Just to understand how you position yourself, because you also said that Israel wasn't the place where you expect people to pay premium for this services, and, for me, Portugal isn't also a place to pay premium for these services too. Cheers from... Portugal!

Hi! I really like this explanation. I have a question... how do you take in all of this information that’s thrown at you during the session? Do you go away and quickly make notes afterwards? Or are you frantically writing notes all the way through? Or do you even record it? :)

Ran, this is incredibly useful content. Thank you for sharing! I'd love to hear what you think : Do you think it's spreading the net too wide if you start a session by asking everyone what their overall goals for the company are? I've tried this once and it worked well with that group, but I'm still not convinced it's the best way to start.
