I’m 67 years old and have played for a long time not really understanding the golf swing, by watching your videos I now get it,you have helped me more than you know, Thanks
This is probably the top tip for the golf swing I’ve ever seen. It makes so much sense when most instructors have us waiting to set the wrists. Reminds me of Rory Mcilroy’s swing drill.
Been working on this and it’s improving my swing! I was too disconnected and would drag the club back. Now I’m feeling connected and compact! Thanks, thanks, thanks!
I took this drill to the driving range tonight and it was very satisfying. I found that I naturally swung back with more fluidity and my transition was better as I was going back on the right path. I hit 105 yards with my pitching wedge with a pretty slow and smooth swing, thanks for this!
As a player almost 70, i shortened my swing, half way back, full follow through, l spent hours in the first lockdown practicing it, and hitting air balls. I actually regained most of the distance i lost with age. Bonus, more consistent and more control.
I remember a video where Rory talked about pushing down with his left hand just as Adam said. Is this what you referring to, or was it a different video? th-cam.com/video/F6bYwOvdFFM/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared&t=368
Ive been struggling with an Achilles injury, so kost the ability to push hard off my keft leg. This has been so valuable to me to have simply better, simpler mechanics and maintain reasonable (if not better) contact than Ive ever had.
And the great thing about this tip, is that you still keep the left arm straight so even with the early hinge and set, so you still feel like you have plenty of width to the swing. Loving your content.
Tried this on the weekend and feeling that pressure and hinge. Completely stoppped my brains need to have that run-off at the top. Shot a 91 (I’m a 27 HCP granted short game weaknesses) thx porzak and greetings from Australia
Excellent analysis. Two important things that I'm not doing that he brought up: 1. Extend backswing staying away from too far inside 2. Hinge and hold down through to contact
First, thanks for the great content! In only a week, the 10% plus 10% concept has helped bring a significant improvement in my iron play. Question: does this concept apply equally to the driver and hybrid hybrid swings? Tks.
I feel like this student could use more width still. His left arm is quite bent at the top of his swing. A drill I like for width is taking the club back with the left hand only, until the left arm is parallel with the ground, then putting the right hand back on the club and turning to the top of the swing. This has helped my own swing a lot because I get narrow as well.
Would you recommend this through the bag Adam, or is it more specific to irons? I ask as I would assume this to promote a downward angle of attack whereas the later hinge promotes a shallower attack angle perhaps better suited to fairway woods and driver?
I've had some success with this, and feel the width maintained and effortless power, but sometimes I feel like the push down may cause a steeping of shoulder tilt, a lowering of head, and a loss of posture swinging back. Guessing you might have encountered this before with your students. What do you think causes this to turn into a fault instead being solid and efficient? What would you suggest to watch out for as far as doing this incorrectly?
Unfortunately, I need the width in my backswing. I have a tendency to pull the club back inside too harshly on the take-way and then I get stuck behind my right side in the downswing. The question here is: do you need more width or more lag set early on in your backswing. With this approach, I could see my hands getting too active in the takeaway. I do see the value for some golfers to do this. It will definitely shorten your backswing if you're an over-swinger which leads to more consistent flushes.
the early hinge and set seems like an easier, more precise way to make a consistent backswing motion, but how do you explain so many pros that don't set early and seem to not fully set until well into the downswing? I realize there's more than one right way... It's hard to pick which way to go lol.
Hey, I can hinge the club properly but when i rotate to the top without doing something with the Hands i am way across the line. What am i doing wrong 🙈🙈🙈 Is there any arm rotation going on?
Your system is good for many. But as you know many good pga players take the club back with it behind their hands as opposed to club head in front of hands.

The best teacher on TH-cam. The inside takeaway is a swing killer!
Best coach on the planet! Nobody comes close to this simple instruction!!
100% agree

I made this takeaway change a few months back from one of your other videos and has been a huge benefit in distance and consistency. Thank you!

That's very impressive! Keep it up
The first lockdown...wtf?
love this! Even rory has practiced this! Saw a video once where his feel was to set it very early in the backswing!

I’m building my game around your teaching (and that of a pro who teaches me consistent material in person) - best thing I’ve ever done for my game!

By far the best take away lesson in the world 💯💯 I tired this today and man... Does it feel awesome 🤘🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A great video I started using this drill every time on the range The results have been amazing

Excellent video! Does this setting the hands apply to driver aswell? X
Was wondering the same thing because this was so effective for my irons.
I think it’s the same for every swing
Fantastic instruction once again. Simple but yet so damn affective.
This make a lot of sense but does is only work for irons or does it work for woods and driver?
Excellent video, got a thumbs on from me. You make it so easy to understand
I ask can this same mechanic be put towards a club like the driver??? Love the videos!
Great video. This works great even though I feel like I have a short John Rahm swing, I’m hitting it higher and longer.
Fantastic Adam. You are the best!
This guy is amazing
This is awesome - best tips ever!

This is fantastic!!!!!
Love this. Adam is this the same mentality with a pitch shot too? I’d imagine same for a short wedge shot
I feel that that grip is key to this position! If not in the fingers it’s so hard to hinge the club properly
Great explanation! So before contact, is there is there a flip of the wrist to get the whip action at impact? I hope that makes sense.
Love this lesson
Nice quarter zip porzak

working at the range my brother! I can cover the ball. woohoo!

It will definitely shorten your backswing if you're an over-swinger which leads to more consistent flushes.
I am 79 with lumbar dusc issues...if I use shorter swing, will whippy shafts help to regain some distance?
what is up with the direction of those divots? Seems highly unusual.

i asked that before finishing the video. Thanks for answering these questions!

Adam what happened to Mike Pitt is he well , just I haven’t seen him in your tutorials of late .
Think he has his own channel now called golf pitt
I have divots that point slightly left as well but my ball goes straight, is this normal/bad?
When you're heading down on the ball, The downward strike equalizes out the path going a little to the left and makes for a straight ball flight.
He seems to be very abrupt with his downswing tho
