Yes, the panels are the same resolution but it renders everything at a higher resolution. To my eye it also has better colours, black levels and contrast, and it's brighter.
@ChigzTech Have you tried any golf games? I got my Ultra yesterday and there is a tracking issue with golf 5 eclub where the club is jumping about and you cant reliably take shots.

If you mean the motion trackers for your feet etc the answer is no. They are supposedly waiting to see how the Pico 4 Ultra does with them. Meta has lost a lot of confidence in VR as they have sold everything at a loss and wasted millions to try and monopolise the market and it did not happen for them.
@@budgetking2591 exactly, there are ALWAYS trade-offs in life, I would take wider FOV instead of so called "true blacks" any day for increased price, I had Samsung HMD Odyssey with AMOLED years ago and it offered almost zero value compared to LCD in PICO 4.

The pico 4 ultra is barely more expensive and you get a passthrough twice as good as quest 3 and way better performance since it has more ram. (It also has better cooling)

I don't understand why Pico has limited its spatial video recording so much...! Normally 32Mp cameras on about 180/200° of covered FOV, once cropped to the 84° FOV, should allow an 8Mp shot... Unfortunately, Pico uses the Quad bining function, everything is divided by 4! While the XR2 gen 2+ can encode 8k at 30fps...It can probably also do 2x8Mp at 60fps.... We would have a 3d video recording close to 4k flat! Here, we have useless 1080p...Gadget. Pico make a correction to this function and i 'll buy! At the limit, they should have offered 180° SBS with 2x8Mp, if the camera lenses were problematic. Or remove the MR function while shooting....To unlock the quad binig There, a quality spatial recording function would have made me decide to buy, since they would have done better than the Apple Vision pro!
It seems to mostly compare to the Quest 3, but I don't see it as superior. Some of the new software on Meta 3 is getting crazy now too. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Shame the put 256Meg ROM on the box, only a really dumb company makes such stupid mistakes. And I own a Pico4Pro. so embarrassing to see this. And I have 512Meg so it's a downgrade for me. Still a nice set overprices, under developed, pointless functions to try be the Apple alternative. Just stick to the one task and do it properly. Only games players want this kit. No display port output, Wifi7 gimmic, same display same lens, same almost everything else! Shame such as same of a wasted product lunch.

In my 30s I realize that health is most important. You can see 15:00 he's OUT OF BREATH just by kicking his legs a bunch in 1 minutes times😅 HORRIBLE. I realize that as u get older for most people you obtain extra cash, that's how it works. That being said I much rather be in my early 30s with probably one device in most categories (2017 gaming laptop, quest 2 with 🥝, a HOME, ECT) and have EXCELLENT health. Than to be near 50 with all the tech in 2024. It's not a dis to this channel but we see so many celebrities who die young and are miserable with all this STUFF. ELECTRONIC STUFF. And if this message helps one person not become frustrated like why don't I have, yet they are super healthy to see what they have already and too be happy. I am working on my health but you’re right, health is the true wealth. Tech reviews is a hobby/work. But my priority going forward is my health and I’m working on it.

Pico 4 ultra is £529 and quest 3 is £459 but you get double the storage 50% more ram and motion trackers if you preorder it, the price is fine
This vs PSVR2?
I prefer the PICO 4 Ultra, PSVR2 requires a PS5 and it's wired, PICO will work anywhere, as it's stand-alone and wireless VR headset.
I see not point in opening 15 or smthn tabs i would just use probably max use 3 and quest 3 lets me use 6 max

It works the same way as the Vision Pro. Spatial photos and videos play back in a small window that you can 'look into'. It works well.

Definitely not a game changer. Meta's software and hardware are unmatched. Paired with a Bobo VR head strap with a fan, they leave others behind.
