I think for the song it is better to use an a minor chord instead of the f major chord.
But this is critic for every version of this song, I sing in a German men choir and there we have a German text and there it sounds better.

That is the beauty of this entire song. No matter how many times I (You) perform this song the end is always a choker. Many times it is hard to keep straight, or should I say EASY, to let your feelings show.
