    How can you find the ° for each angle?

    • @Qermaq
      @Qermaq 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That will vary as x varies. If you chose the minimum or maximum values for x, you get an extremely flat triangle with an extremely small angle. In the middle you get more typical triangles. If you set a value for x, you can use trig to find the exact angles. My approach would be to drop an altitude to form two right triangles. We know the hypotenuse and the right angle, and we know that the long leg of one is the same as the short leg of the other, and we know the sum of the other legs. Should be easy from here. ;)

    • @bienvenidos9360
      @bienvenidos9360 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you know all numerical sides of a triangle, you can use the trig formula to find any of the angles.
      c² = a² + b² - 2ab * cosC
      Solve for cosC to get the angle.

    Can’t I just find x then plug it in and see what each side is equal to therefore I could just see how much each is worth

    • @bienvenidos9360
      @bienvenidos9360 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is just to find out the range of values that x could be for this to be a triangle.
      So x can be any value between 7/3 and 9 for this problem.
      If you choose any value for x such as 20, then you would get the sides to be 21, 41 and 73. You cannot form a triangle with these lengths. So x=20 is not a solution. The length of 73 is too long.

    The sum of two sides of a triangle can be equal to the third side when ө = 180 degree. Can we use this case to solve the problem g

    • @MariosMathTutoring
      @MariosMathTutoring  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If one angle is 180 degrees then it will no longer be a triangle. The sum of any two sides has to be greater than the third side.

  • @iinotes9447
    @iinotes9447 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you have equal amounte

    • @bienvenidos9360
      @bienvenidos9360 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that would be an isoscoles triangle. (You can also have a triangle with all 3 sides equal to each other, that would be an equilateral/equiangular triangle, but that would not work for the triangle in this problem).
      You can find the value where 2 sides are equal by setting 2 sides equal to each other.
      2x+1=4x-7
      2x=8
      x=4
      So if x=4, plug the value in and you get the 3 sides to be 9, 9 and 5.
      Try with another set of sides.
      x+1=4x-7
      3x=8
      x=8/3
      So if x=8/3, plug in the value and you get the 3 sides to be 11/3, 11/3 and 19/3.
      It will not work for the other set of sides because 2x+1 is greater than x+1 so those sides won't be equal and x cannot be zero for this to be a triangle.
