The perspective of the main character gave me vibes from The Eerie Inn. Well, the whole game looks like a polished version of The Eerie Inn in term of the graphics.
I like that they gave the character a broken arm. It kinda gives a little more believability to the whole "I can't do something any normal human could do" mechanic that most horror games have. lol Also, working mirrors?! Even most Triple A games can't seem to get that right. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes!
Yep, the amount of horror games I've seen with a stack of cardboard boxes "in the way" that you could just move. This is such a refreshing way of presenting it
True reflection in games can sometimes take up more processing power than it's worth. Apparently some game devs will fake it by actually creating another room on the other side of the 'mirror' with an npc duplicate of your character that copies your actions. This game might be doing that, but I'm no expert so I don't know.

Hello, your friendly neighbourhood Japanese Studies graduate here~ If any of you have any interest in old Japanese folklore, Lafcadio Hearn's (1850-1904) old translations are a pretty fun and easy read. Some of Hearn's Romanized/Englishized Japanese is a bit awkward by today's standards (ie. 'kwaidan' would now be 'kaidan' 怪談, meaning ghost story in Japanese) but they're fun to read nonetheless. It's cool seeing a game that's actually using Hearn's translated stories as part of it's narrative, rather than just the usual 'generic creepy Asian legend' aesthetic.
Kwaidan means “ghost stories.” It’s also the name of a really good Japanese movie from the 60’s. I seem to remember you mentioning you like Seven Samurai, so you might be familiar with some of the director of Kwaidan’s other movies: Seppuku/Harikiri and Samurai Rebellion. If you haven’t seen those either, though, you should check them out. Those three (particularly Seppuku) are up there with some of the better Kurosawa films IMO

NINmann01 That has literally never happened to me with Windows. It never just pops up while I'm playing a game. Then again, I actually optimize my computer and take my time to go through the settings and change things unlike most people. Like how you can completely disable the sticky keys pop up, disable automatic restarts, etc. I hate when people complain about Windows but don't even bother to look up how to fix a simple issue they're having with it..
Yes most the problems you can fix but you also have to ask whether we should have to? I too have adjusted my settings to not annoy me too much but I still dont think automatic updates should pop up and potentially kill whatever you are doing.

You can have it set so it still shows notifications, but not when something is fullscreen (the best option). You could also have it set to just never show notifications, but that's not recommended. As for asking if you should have to adjust your settings, that's like saying every computer, and every person, is exactly the same and wants the exact same things. There's a reason why Windows is how it is.. The automatic updates that will restart your computer suddenly aren't even a thing.. the only time that happens is when you've ignored it for so long it forced the update because you NEED to update, like was stated earlier. If you don't want that behavior to happen though, there is an option for it. It's not even hard to change the settings.. A vast majority of anything you'd want to change is within the Control Panel or Settings. Most of the time I see errors, notifications, and so on in videos it's just stupid people ignoring things.. Like not updating their graphics drivers so Nvidia pops up with a reminder. or Java popping up because it hasn't been updated. Then instead of fixing the problem by actually updating things the person just continues on and ignores it... meanwhile each time they ignore it they get more and more angry about the notification instead of just updating which just takes a moment or two.

Or when Zeus made that one person attracted to bulls. Or when Loki got caught up with a bet about a wall. Also known as the "Sleipnir Incident."

Voice over in indie games is the ultimate breaker for me personally. If it's good, then it adds immensely to the experience of a lower budget/smaller team title. Like in this one. And if it's bad, the game becomes just about unplayable to me. Don't know if anyone cares, but thoughts?
