  • We spent nearly three weeks holidaying in Devon, Cornwall, and Someret in October. This video describes a visit to East Quantoxhead beach in Somerset. My British Bride (aka my wife) chose this location on the Bristol Channel because she knows I love geology - and there is a lot of great geology here!

Hello. I'm glad I could help and contribute to your video. I also have a story from that footpath to the beach. After I foud a piece of ammonite I decided to take it home. Nice sunny day, about 1,5 km to the car - what can go wrong? Well, my piece of limestone happened to be 22 kg one and cost me a lot of water with every step. Next year I;m going to the other side of Devon and also to Dorset where more petrified wonders can be found.
We are with Scottish Explorer in Poland now and we are hoping to visit few places after Christmas. Just started snowing and I hope it wont' cross our plans!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Yes, you mentioned the work you had to do carrying that limestone! That would have been a hard job, carrying that so far.
Enjoy your stay in Poland! I was scheduled to visit Poland just before all the Covid lockdowns happened, and had to cancel everything. I was going to visit the town where my late wife was born -- in Ostroda, but back when it was part of Germany. I don't know if I'll ever manage to make the trip now.
