- Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died on Friday due to complications of metastatic pancreas cancer, the court announced. She was 87.
Ginsburg was appointed in 1993 by President Bill Clinton and in recent years served as the most senior member of the court's liberal wing consistently delivering progressive votes on the most divisive social issues of the day, including abortion rights, same-sex marriage, voting rights, immigration, health care and affirmative action.

Abortion, however controversial it might be, gives a choice to mothers who know they will not be able to support their child.
It negates the chances of potential harm from child birth, and prevents the baby-in-question from leading a potential life of tragedy.
Some children are left in the care of parents who neglect them, rape them, or sell them off for money.
Is knowingly and deliberately bringing a child into the care of such an egregious guardian more moral? Why not bring a cessation to the suffering before it even came into fruition?
One cannot play Russian roulette with the life of a child, and hope they won't be sending them off into a blatant and obvious spiral of abuse.
Even so, the argument of "adoption" is heavily flawed.
Think about what often warrants adoption.
At times, grievous neglect. But, before a child can get the adoption they need, the abuse must have already occurred.
The child would have already been left with such pain and trauma.

The common misconception with abortion is the idea that, once legal, it will spread like wildfire.

Not every mother is so "immoral" as to "kill" off her child.
