It sounds like we’ll be seeing less of you weekly which is a bummer but I understand there’s only so much time to accomplish all you do. I look forward to seeing your adventures in 2024
All I heard was "Podium finish Hardrock 2026" LOL. Love it - keep the awesome content coming. Your channel is EASILY responsible for an extra 30-40% (on average) time on feet I put in each week. Having these videos on a side monitor during my work day gets me jacked up and I have no choice but to hit the trails the moment I can:) Here's to having an amazing 2024!!
I've been really enjoying your director commentary videos. While I am always happy to more quality content like yours, I understand and frankly like the new direction you want to take with the channel. I am curious though, we've been seeing a bit more of Audrée on the channel lately and her different perspective provides a fresh take on things. Is this something we can expect more of? Keep up the good work!
I can’t think of a better way to demonstrate support for your decision than to donate towards buying you and Audrée lunch (or maybe just a couple of really good coffees 😁). Thanks for what is, imho, the best running/travel channel around.
I’ll miss the regular uploads, but the longer films are why I’m here personally so having less crossover between the feature length films and the regular videos is a good thing. Especially if it gives you more time to work on the longer stuff. Thanks for all the work you do, here’s to another great year!
You were the reason of me starting doing trail runs. I remember every minute of the UTMB documentary and always share with other enthusiasts. The quality of your content is ridiculously good. Keep those comming when you can, when you have the time. We will be here waiting for it eagerly :)
Hi Jeff in late June the Mother of UltraTrail in Portugal is something Unique ! There is finally an amazing documentary available with his creator and all Community ! The Father of Ultra Trail Running in Portugal has a passion since the 70's that is outstanding! The name of this MASTERPIECE is "FILHOS DA FREITA" I truly recommend you and Audree to watch it and how it beguns something unique that is the Real LEGEND in Portugal 😉 Have fun watching it is so inspiring that seems that You were also there running and filming. Thanks Obrigado ❤
Just a quick word of support and encouragement - I think your plan is very wise, in terms of sticking with what separates your content from the pack, and remaining focused on your health, your relationships, and the true enjoyment of DOING THE THINGS! I worry about ultra runners and creators like you, getting too caught up in the tedious work required to maintain your strict level of quality and creativity, and losing the true love and enjoyment of the adventures themselves. Like I tell my gym rat daughter, WE HAVE TO KEEP LOVING THE PROCESS, OR IT WILL NEVER WORK LONG TERM. Best wishes, MR. P., and I'll be staying tuned for quality, not quantity.
Good to hear there is no UTMB promoting in this years schedule. The Polettis are rich enough! Not sure if there is a potential clash but you might not be aware that there is a UK YT trail channel called Time on Feet
I really love your channel and especially the longer videos but also in general you as a storyteller. I am really looking forward to all the videos of past and future adventures! 😍
Hi Jeff, me and my wife are heading to Alta Via 1 in June to run the whole journey in 3 days as a form of our training camp before Eiger 101 and CCC so perhaps we will see each other on the trail 👍😎
Truly enjoy what you are doing here Jeff. Thank you for your passion and all your effort....effort to run! Effort to film your runs, effort to edit it all, and effort to share it with us. It's amazing! Just amazing!
I stumbled across your channel via Ben Parkes and as I live close to the Lake District I binge watched all your Bob Graham round videos and imagine my surprise when I popped up in your Hampstead Heath parkrun segment (I’m the one in the neon yellow t shirt stood next to you at the briefing) 😂 I’ve now watched almost all your videos and really enjoy the combination of yours and Audrees adventures, hard work and love of the outdoors and trail running. Looking forward to seeing what success 2024 has in store for you!
I'm looking forward to the remaining of your 2023 run content and your 2024 schedule. I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for people like you who make such high quality videos. I've made a couple of videos just to show my family where I've been and it takes a lot of effort to edit footage into something "decent" (which I don't think I've achieved). Unless someone's gifted it takes a lot of effort and dedication to build that ability, just like running.
I'm in the process of binging your 2022 training diaries - they're so good! And so much content. I can appreciate why you've decided to cut back. Question tho: What are some other TH-cam channels you'd recommend for training diaries type content? I'd love to know who you and Audrée follow!
I just discovered your videos, i just started running and canicross. Both my dog and I prefer trail running. Your videos are inspiring and help me get out there.
All the best for the season ahead Jeff and Audre! Sounds like a lot of focus on Hard Rock for 2025 so hopefully this gets the job done (the journey will be enjoyable no doubt though too!)
Looking forward to the Moab 240 film like everyone else, hopefully we can get out to the premiere. Hopefully see you at the start of DV, in the pouring rain. 🙂
Sounds like summer 2024 will be a great one for you two. Excited to hear about Audrée running High Lonesome 100. As a 2023 finisher traveling in for the race from just above sea level on the East Coast I have lots tips if you'd be interested. Your content is fantastic and can't wait for more. Happy running!
Love it Jeff. Always excited to see where your plans take the both of you. Will absolutely be keeping eyes out for the Moab screening and of course any and all channel changes.
Love your content, keep exploring new places please. Gives my wife and I ideas for our next adventure. We are making our way to the TMB with vagabond in August. Your videos made us fall in love with the area and we are on our way. Thank you.
Awesome as always. Super stoked to hear we will see you at Diez Vista. Your videos and documentaries have inspired us to train and sign up for Diez Vista. Thanks for all your hardwork and excellent content.
Iceland should be spectacular! Try and get over by the blue lagoon to see the effects of the eruptions from the past few months. I’ve been covering that on my channel as I was hoping to get there this summer for some gravel riding adventures.
I find your focus on doing all the editing yourself so interesting. Great that not all creators take the same approach so we get an array of content. Love your work.
Sounds like another epic year! Excited to follow along, especially with the Softrock. I’d love to do that one day! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
wow, so many pending great videos.. and looking forward to that hardrock "softrock" fastpacking... not much of videos in youtube showcasing the in-depth hardrock course... goodluck to audree to that high lonesome 100 and your swiss alps 100
Hey it’s me in your video! 😁 I’m the girl in the header of the Swiss Alps 100 website. That race is phenomenal. So beautiful! Best day of my life. Good luck with all your plans! 🤍🏔️
It's great that you guys can travel the world and have so many awesome adventures! Good on you for having the businesses and/or income to do it all :) Heck I can't afford to go to the grocery store 🤷♀ I love your films and am looking foward to the content this year when you're able to upload. Your videos have inspired me to get my old body back onto the trails when possible. The adventure and race videos are great to watch while on the tread. I haven't been able to run for months but hoping to start a new training plan in a few days. Thx for giving this oldie hope! Ha :)
Thanks for the motivation. I was watching the video in bed, not really wanting to go for an overdue run. And when I saw Time On Feet, it hit me: I don’t need to run, but let’s go for a good walk. Almost 2 hours later, here I am, with over 11km I wouldn’t have done otherwise. Much appreciated!
I hope you'll be doing Alta Via 2 because it looks awesome. Mediocre Amateur ran it in a few days here on TH-cam. It's a good video to watch and see what you're in for.
Can't wait to see all your adventures! I've been checking every week to see if the MOAB video is out yet, I'm super excited to watch. Completely understandable to make the change with the diaries :) thanks for making such wonderful videos about your experiences and good luck with the upcoming year!
If you're free in May you might want to consider the challenge of running all the Bronze peaks In Grande Cache in a day. The bronze peaks are the easiest hikes in Grande Cache's Passport to the Peaks program. GC really is a hidden gem for hiking. 3 of the bronze peaks are part of the Canadian Death Race.
Nice to meet you at Big Alta, I hope you had a great weekend and run. Hopefully you got some good info about Swiss Alps from Ryan and Tim. Good luck on your year of adventures!
A Softrock video will be great, should be a nice overview of the course. Great idea switching things up with Time on Feet, it must have been a bit of a grind keeping up with training diaries. Looking forward to it!
Fantastic Jeff! I am also running the Swiss Alps 100 this year. If we happen to share any miles during the race I may have to ask you for your top tips for taking on a sub 24 hour BGR, as that is my next focus after the Swiss Alps. Looking forward to your upcoming films either way. The format sounds like it'll work better for your schedule. Cheers, Sean
Good luck on your adventures for 2024!! I think a lot of people underestimates how much time we put on editing for a movie. Really need to prioritize - I've been putting either a tip video or race recap weekly but just like you said, it's not sustainable.
This makes a lot of sense. I only discovered you recently with your Bob Graham Round video. That was such an incredible film, and to make more time in your week to focus on feature films sounds like a good idea to me. Best of luck with your new schedule ☺️🙏
Jeff, check out the Pirin Extreme in Bulgaria for September - quite some spectacular views! Otherwise come over to Luxembourg for the Mullerthal Leopard Trail (UTML) :)
Sounds like an epic 2024. Looking forward to it all. On changes to the channel, I do hope "Tim on Feet" will continue to devote some time to nutrition. Yes, there are tons of videos out there on that, too. But you are just more trustworthy on a topic that is often full of not-so-trustworthy advice. Good luck this weekend.
i wish you could come by Toronto or near by for a nice run around may so i could join. I love your videos and your style of doing things and theyve made me a better person and runner
High Lonesome was an amazing experience last year! You two will absolutely love it, I'm sure. Let me know if you need any insider beta and I'll be happy to help :)
Epic idea: you should try to squeeze in a run of the Four Pass Loop (out of Aspen/Maroon Bells) before or after High Lonesome. It is the preeminent CO mountain run/backpack loop (27mi, ~7500’ gain), if not top 5 for whole US. The Elk Mountains give the San Juan’s a run for their money
So stoked for y'alls season coming up! You really pack your years end to end which is good for us because you'll have so much content you can work with haha. A friend and I are looking to meet up for the first time since our undergrad to tackle one of the Swiss Peaks events (70 or 100k most likely) and are so excited as neither of us have been to the country yet and we are both coming from flat cities (Chicago and Toronto) so this should be interesting 😅 Really rooting for you to get into Hardrock next year as I know you've been at that lottery for many years at this point. For your posting schedule I totally understand the route you've decided to take, and I think the more individually unique "pop-up" vlog format will suite your efforts well as you had asked the community here a similar question at the end of your 2022 diaries. And as I've commented on your other most recent video, I and my friends really find value in the sort of "library" of running knowledge content and references you put out. Stuff like what gear best worked for you and Audrée in a given season, tips/tricks on how to travel for these events, new nutrition you've found that you'd like to highlight, things of that nature. Perhaps one on how to best look for places when traveling to races abroad and how to schedule those stays around the events themselves? Cheers to 2024!
Great year ahead, wish you the best with it all as well as the Hardrock entry. Based in Denver and have some big San Juan adventures planned as well (50k through Chicago Basin). If you guys need any crew support for Softrock I’m down
I really do love watching your films and exciting adventures! You are such a great storyteller. As much as I am looking forward to see all your films in 2024, I must admit that I am also very much concerned about the increasing climate change we are seeing every day globally, which has such devastating impacts on the lives of us all - now or ahead. Air travel leaves a very large carbon footprint compared with other ways of travel, so I think it would be wise to travel less by air. As a runner and athlete with a large number of followers on social media, what are your thoughts on reducing air travel and generally making climate smart individual choices? Wish you all the best and good luck this year! Kind regards from Norway!
Hey @JeffPelletier thanks for your inspirational hi quality documentaries. I've got a few races this year including the Swiss peaks and have some camera gear questions. Often, I finish a race and have little pictures nor videos to show the small moments of a race and then resort to writing reports that end up being uninteresting. What camera gear do you normally bring on a trail run? I was initially thinking of investing in a 360 camera and then using my phone to fill in the gaps (wide angle and 70ish equivalent). However, I've a photographer background and also like the idea of a compact camera like the rx100. If you could only bring 1 camera gear other than your phone, what would it be. Do you bring a selfie stick or is there a hybrid one that acts like a pole? Thanks in advance
I’d say a GoPro is the one camera I can’t live without, a phone would be second. The Insta360 is such a specialized use case with its own post-production requirements so I wouldn’t want to rely too much on that. A compact mirrorless camera would be good, but I’m not sure there isn’t anything you couldn’t get capture with your phone when shooting RAW which you’re probably going to be carrying anyway.
The quality of the GO3 with its smaller sensor leaves a lot to be desired, not to mention the fact that you can’t swap batteries or memory cards. Do I only use it for specific shots when I need to be hands free, like when scrambling.
Definitely, and it would work for my more scripted content for sure. Just more difficult for the longer form stories, as so much of the creative direction is done during the edit.

Thanks so much Chad!

Good luck, health and success for yours and Audrees goals in 2024!
I am soo happy that you will be taking me for many more adventures! Keep safe and have a great season.
Really looking forward to the Julian Apls episode!

Looking forward to the videos this year. Best of luck to you and Audree in your races!
I was so fired up when you mentioned that you’ll be in the Baja Ross Monster again! An absolute unit of a vehicle.
Cannot wait for the Moab film! Watching from Ireland
thank you Jeff for all the inspiration you keep producing! Looking forward to the Julian Alps video.
Woohoo! Big year for guys! Looking forward to watching all the films too! 🎉🎉🎉

Awesome as always. Super stoked to hear we will see you at Diez Vista. Your videos and documentaries have inspired us to train and sign up for Diez Vista. Thanks for all your hardwork and excellent content.
Ecuador, my home country. I'm very curious where you will go. I was there last month and did the volcano Ilalo traverse, short and close to Quito

Have loved your training adventures and excited to watch your upcoming features, Time on Feet is perfect, Thanks
I hope you'll be doing Alta Via 2 because it looks awesome. Mediocre Amateur ran it in a few days here on TH-cam. It's a good video to watch and see what you're in for.

Sounds like 2024 will be a fun year for you. Have fun and be safe and I I can’t wait to see the fast pack of the hard rock 100 video.
All the best on Sunday! Following your adventures from BA, Argentina ❤

Cheers,
Sean
See you there Sean!
I think the changes will be good, looking forward to the first 'time on feet' 👍😊
Your Moab video is my super bowl. I can't wait!
Can’t wait to share it!
I was worried when I saw "changes to the channel" fearing your films would go behind the paywall. I love the changes, though. Have a great 2024!
Good luck on your adventures for 2024!!
I think a lot of people underestimates how much time we put on editing for a movie. Really need to prioritize - I've been putting either a tip video or race recap weekly but just like you said, it's not sustainable.
Best channel, thanks for all videos man, it’s appreciated!
You’ll have to come down to New Zealand one day Jeff
This makes a lot of sense. I only discovered you recently with your Bob Graham Round video. That was such an incredible film, and to make more time in your week to focus on feature films sounds like a good idea to me. Best of luck with your new schedule ☺️🙏
Sounds like a good bit of travel and a great season, Jeff! Maybe I will see you at Hardrock, as I hope to get out that way this year.

Looks pretty in the snow
Hmm, looking to fill out september? Divide 200 is in September :)
Fill those gaps with the Canadian Rockies! Banff, Jasper, Canmore...
Awesome

What are your dates for the soft rock... maybe I'll drive out extra early this year. ;) Come pace me at IMTUF sept!
Join us for Softrock! I’ll DM you.
I wonder why you're not using the Insta360 Go 3? As a trail runner, I assume that the ease of no-hands camera is better for POV shots.
The quality of the GO3 with its smaller sensor leaves a lot to be desired, not to mention the fact that you can’t swap batteries or memory cards. Do I only use it for specific shots when I need to be hands free, like when scrambling.
2024 goals sure is a lot
See you at Hardrock and high lonesome. Good times.
Is the MOAB race video members only, or is it still in production?
Still in the works, but it will be publicly available mid-April.

Maybe an editor in your future there is.
Have you thought about hiring an editor who can help you with the content?
Definitely, and it would work for my more scripted content for sure. Just more difficult for the longer form stories, as so much of the creative direction is done during the edit.
Jeff, 9yrs applying + snow + COVID cancellation = 11 yrs for me, 2025 = 1024 tickets, its all luck... Keep trying...
Whoa, that’s a lot of tickets! Hope to see you on the start line next year.
