talofa, i just stumbled across your channel and i can't tell you how wonderful it was to watch this video and how many memories it brought back. i was a peace corps volunteer in western samoa (1974-1977) and my samoan family was from lepuia'i. it was so wonderful to see that although apia has changed so much in the years since i was there (golden arches?), aside from now having electricity, manono looks as peaceful and beautiful as i remember it nearly 50 years ago. even your grandfather's boat looks exactly like the ones that i used to ride back and forth to the island on except that i seem to remember sharing a seat with chickens and an occasional pig. fa'afetai mo manatuaga matagofie.
You guys are officially my faves. It’s not many times you get samoan vloggers actually knowing and sharing their rich family/village history. I’m over the touristy vlogs, this is a breath of fresh air. Absolutely loved this one.

Beautiful Vlog. Beautiful island of Manono. I used to live there in Salua with my grandparents when I was 6 years old in the 1970s (Pagai - on the other side of the church). Unforgetable memories! Your family is next door to our other family, Auapaau Kaisalika, Auapaau Tui, and others. Thanks for the beautiful video!

Yes I was in total awe when I learnt of the part Fauea played in bringing the Gospel to our Beautiful Samoa, a Samoan speech/lauga is a beauty of its own when you can understand all the metaphors and saying that weave our history but our culture into it. Fauea is my great x4 grandpa. I went to Manono in 2011 (I was 14yrs old then) our band was playn for a wedding, little did I know it was my rootz too 🫤 Thanks Vee fam for showin his restin place, a must visit in future 😉 I musta got my speech skills from him 🤭
