    Stumbled on this while following links to learn more about the areas my ancestors come from. This was so beautiful, thank you for sharing!

    7:30 LOL yess I'm Ojibwe and I've done sweat lodges before and they get so hot, I was warned to lay down if I got too hot before hand 😂 it works. Also the mud and medicines they use definitely do help, natural minerals LOL. it's nice to jump into some water after a sweat. 😂

    Good to see you reconnecting to your Guachichil culture. Yes sweat lodges are used to cleanse the body of toxins and purify mind and soul. I'll add that meditation or chanting or prayers (maybe all) is typical of many Indigenous sweat lodge ceremonies from Central to North America. The heat, meditation (some times fainting) with the chanting may bring on visions to some people in the sweat. The visions are the ancestors responding.

    It’s so awesome to see the hard work and effort of reconnecting coming to this conclusion. Thank you and Marcus for everything the Indigenous Podcast efforts and mission that support the reconnection of detribalized Indigenous/Natives.

    Wow brother! So beautiful. I am at a loss for words truly. I’m very happy and proud for you and your nation. Rebuilding! It is possible. My ancestors fought alongside yours in the resistance of our lands and we stand united again in their honor. Much love to you and your nation.

      @@indigenouspodcast2257 I still haven't gone to sleep! 🥴 I'm an insomniac! Yes, I watched it all the way through. And I really, really loved it. I'm so glad that you got to have this amazing experience, and to be an official member of your tribe! Congratulations! I hope you continue to learn and to grow. And it makes me hopeful too, that I'll be able to reconnect with my own roots someday. I keep saying this but it's true. I love being back home in Zacatecas. Everytime I'm there I'm unbelievably happy, and being in that ancestral landscape fills me up with so much inner peace and strength. I'm so happy I got to see this. I love home ❤️ Thank you for sharing it with us.

    Huh, thought northern only did sweat lodges.
    Interesting.

    • @nehiyawwolf9284
      @nehiyawwolf9284 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      As a northern ndn I don't know much about Southern ndns. I learn from this guy podcasts and his server. So don't go around projecting southern and northern division red dog.

    • @nehiyawwolf9284
      @nehiyawwolf9284 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @al red dog I am from the cree nation. Sorry for the inconvenience.
      What made you have presumptions about me, about i don't think about the ndns beyond a border.do you understand not all ndns are not aware of other ndn people's culture? That's why I am here. To learn and exchange talks with the ndns of South and North.
      Like where you gonna be enjoying that I wasn't aware of others culture so you might just bash me. Cause idk who you are.
      But. Understand that people have lives my friend. And people are learning. Just like you before who have learned about other cultures.
      So where are you from?

    Halfway through my first temazcal I did the same. I breathed as close to the ground so my nostrils didn’t feel like they were on fire. Meanwhile the teenage daughter of the shaman didn’t move anything other than her lips the entire time lmfao

    QUESTION: Are the Guachichiles descendant's of the indigenous tribe of the Guanaches of the Canary Island of Tenerife? My great grandmother was Guachichile from Cienega de Mata, Aguascalientes and her ancestors were from Tenerife Canary Islands via documentation.

    woah omg the blood payment sounds METAL AF!! is it like a mandatory thing for all Guachichiles to do or is it a practice that's optional??
