The music from FFXI will be in my heart forever. I still can remember the places from this game and have the music of them in my mind. My linkshell quit XI when XIV was released because we didn't get new players (Odin was closed completely at this time) and a lot of the old members didn't came back. So I'm playing 14 for a longer time than 11 but I still can remember more songs from 11 than from 14 - even if 14 also has a great soundtrack! But XI not only was the first MMO I ever played. It also was the first time that I met people who liked me just the way I am. they didn't judge me for being "weird" or fat or something else. Our friendships grow really deep and those people are still part of my life, even if they don't play FFXIV. While friends in real life left, they stayed at my side. This year our linkshell has its 20th anniversary. I founded this guild with a guy and my Ex boyfriend (who's still one of my closest friends and also a leader of our FG) and never was part of another one. We meet each year and are spending 6 days together - old players like me, new ones and those who don't play anymore. All that is just possible because of Final Fantasy XI! ♥
Xi was also my first mmo. I will always have a special place in My heart for xi but in many ways xiv is superior to xi, not just in terms of graphics but in potential & the sherr amount of content is on par with xi
Getting the airship pass after grinding out of Qufim, flying out of Jeuno and arriving at Khazam docks was intimidating and magical. The time, effort and cooperation needed gave me the greatest sense of accomplishment I’ll probably ever get from a game.
@@RadaghastBrown Hell yeah. I played for a decade and my most satisfying achievement was getting Joyeuse and rank 10 San d’Oria on the same day. Then probably winning Homam pants.
Amazing. I went back for about six months last year. I'll probably give it another go soon. I'll never tire of visiting old zones and just vibing. The nostalgia for this game in 2005-2008 is just insane.
Awwww this track instantly transported me back to my college dorm room in the early 2000s. FF11 music has that something special since you spend so much time in one area and it loops on forever. You become one with it.

Every night I listen to ffxi soundtrack I bought the main soundtrack that had the main game chains of promanthia and rise of zilart soundtracks but had to track down aht urgan and wings of the goddess sadly I wasnt there for the expansions after that and can't find the music but I'm still happy I got the soundtracks for the other 😊

I remember those accomplishments. Getting airship passes was huge. Hitting 75 BST was a big deal for me too.

FFXI soundtrack is peak nostalgia. It represents the happiest period of my life, and this cover is a wonderful representation of that time.

I have played ffxi and even when 6 was my favorite... This after many debating in my head became my favorite... The story is brilliant
