I thought this was going to be something positive about the city based on that intro... Maybe lead with the new businesses that have opened, the live music events going on with increased frequency, the restaurants with delicious accessible menus, and the celebration of diverse cultures and arts happening... shout out to the Alley Cat Café!
They should do a story on Where's Chief Pontiac ? There was a portrait of Chief Pontiac in every school in Pontiac.. Sometime they took him down ! HANK FiND OUT WHY ? This was a large photo too ! Chief Pontiac is still on one building in Pontiac. I HOPE ! They don't have the money to replace that bridge !! They should put a extra tax on every home like other communities have to fix the safety paths and The Dam Roads.
The City of Pontiac, under Mayor Tim Greimel, has informally replaced Chief Pontiac as its logo with a “PONTIAC the Heart of Oakland County” and a Gear symbol…just sayin’ this would be a “Bottom Up” thing, because the reason it is so EMPTY in this video is that elected leadership is fully in service to a project of gentrification & a Commercial Real Estate/Hedge Fund GRIFT that doesn’t include residents in the “Plan.” And so far Oakland County hasn’t either and is currently on board to seize one of the last two remaining community-owned assets in the downtown, the Phoenix Center, which was in need of a mere rehab and some community engagement & imagination for the 21st century not another road closure/expansion traffic jam running through the small downtown…
If you were going to tell a story about how great it is, maybe don’t start by introducing it with two reports about how the city is failing to provide for its residence
