I was so happy to come and help out! Despite the BONE CHILLING COLD, it was a lot of fun! And if anyone was curious, I made $229 on Sunday! And cuuuuuute hair cut!!! :D
I discovered your channel a couple weeks back and have really loved seeing your crochet journey. I also love the passion, joy and excitement you express, can't help but smile. So from 1 crochet mama to another, keep up the good work x
I love the haircut first of all! Second of all Sunny is ADORABLE!!! Thirdly What I do when I go to markets is I pack a travel bag to bring with me with yarn and stuff to make the smaller easier items just to fill in holes and restock my table so I don't have to stress and worry after the market to restock stuff, especially on multi day markets.
@@YarnandWhimsyDesigns I do the same lol. I don't get as much done at markets as I would if I was alone and focused but still some stuff. And don't be! YOU WORK THAT HAIR CUT!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience Karen - it was a joy listening to your podcast and also very helpful as you shared what worked well as well as earnings versus time which is so important. Love your videos - you are definitely an inspiration ☺️
Haircut looks amazing! Sunny 🥹 what a sweet pup. Mom Whimsy is a champion. Love seeing your successes and the way you speak about your customer interactions makes my heart so happy. 🫶
Congrats and what a lovely idea to invite another crafter to share your booth for the last day. Thanks again for linking some of the patterns you used.
Hey Karen! I haven't seen your videos pop up on my feed lately. So I was happy to see and hear you today. 🥰 Your event went smashingly well. You know your stuff is awesome because those craft fairs are always hit or miss. And yours was definitely a hit! The downside is your out of inventory. The upside is you get to make more! ❤ Thanks for sharing. Oh, and I put a wobbles kit on my Christmas list so I can learn too. 😂
I can’t wait to see what you do! Also, some yarn is way easier to work with than others. Don’t give up without experimenting a little! Thanks so much for being so supportive my friend!
that was cool seeing very little left on your tables and great idea to bring a friend crocheter into the fold. It's nice being market free for the rest of the year and being able to re-set on ideas for 2024 which is also what I'm doing (crocheting what I want instead of for market prep)
Congratulations on your market. I love watching your videos. I’ve been admiring funshine Care Bears since you made him as I absolutely love Care Bears and also collect them. The first time I saw him in your video background I literally screamed and my support worker came running in thinking something was wrong but I just burst into tears with excitement and said “it a Care Bear….” If you’re willing to part with him I’d love to buy him from you to add to my collection. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and I can’t wait to see more of your crochet projects and videos.
What an amazing story. Absolutely, it would make me so happy to know he’s going to good home! I’d you decide you really want him, just message me on IG or you can email me at yarnandwhimsydesigns@gmail.com Thanks so much for your very kind comment! Happy Holidays!!
Sonny is adorable! Congrats on a very successful first year in markets! Can’t wait to see the turtle roundup! I already have a favorite turtle pattern but you may be able to sway me to a new one
What an amazing outcome!!! I’m so glad you did well. Sunny is the most adorable pup! Congrats on having a new baby in the house. They are time consuming, but mostly worth it, lol.
Thank you so much! Shes totally worth it 22 hours of the day. Then there are those 2 hours every evening that she becomes a crazy dog 😂😂😂 Just the same, we adore her. Thanks so much for watching. I appreciate you!
I love your hair girl it’s super cute! I came across your channel and subscribed a couple weeks ago. I love your videos! I am really looking forward to the turtle round up video. Thank you for all the knowledge you share with us.❤
What a way to end the year!! Awesome!!!! Sonny is the cutest!! Oh my gosh, he's so precious!!! About 2 yrs. ago, I crocheted my (then) 5 yr. old great granddaughter a unicorn. It was so pretty, but a pain in the you know what too make!! I dare ask her if she still has it. I may not want to know.
Hi Karen!! Loving the new haircut! Girlfriend you have the Midas touch. You have done phenomenal in your market season! You just amaze me! You are so lucky you found such amazing markets to attend!! Bravo! Wow, Sunny is growing fast, and look how cute she is! Happy Holidays!! Hugs ❤❤
Karen, loving your hair!! 🥰 rainy and cold is the worst! It’s nice the tents were already put up for you! Give me all the sunny content! She is the most adorable dog ever!! How was manny left?! It’s the cutest thing ever!!! The highland cow didn’t sell either? What the heck! But congrats on a great show! 🥰
I can not say how proud of you I am!! Love you! Tell mom and the kids hi! I would have a hard time staying in an outdoor rainy market. Your a trooper! BTW love your hair
I just wanted to say I recently found your channel and l have loved Watching all of for videos while I knit! You have definitely inspired me to get into crafting again! Love your videos and your vibe can’t wait for more!
So happy for you that you had a blast at your market. I wish you lots of fun making new inventory. If you need any ideas for the turtle video, my favorite at the moment is Tiana from allfromjade. Also thefriendlyredfox has a free pattern of an under an hour turtle which I like a lot. Happy holidays to you and your family 🎄☃️
Tiana is my favorite too! I’m just as curious if we will find one that I like as much! Thanks so much for your support! I’ll try that free pattern for sure!
I’m so excited for you and your success! You have the best energy, and are so supportive of others. I can’t wait to see what’s next for you! Also, your hair is super cute! Have a great holiday season!
I absolutely love your videos! I wish so badly we lived closer! I live in Ohio! I would come to all your tables. I’ve been crocheting since I was 6 and I’m 23 now! In love with crocheting but have no crochet friends 😣so I’m looking for people I could hang out with and crochet ☺️💞
Find Facebook groups in your area! I’ve been lucky to make a couple crochet friends. But also, IG friends are amazing!!! I’m grateful for everyone one of them, and everyone that reaches out here on TH-cam. You made my day!
Awww thank you so much for responding!! ❤ I am trying to find some in my area but so far haven’t been successful. Your videos have given me courage though to start building my amigurumi stash and hopefully get into a craft show soon!!
Your hair is very cute!!! Thank you for posting these videos. I want to do some markets in Tennessee. What State are you in? Congrats on the successful sales.
So glad your market was a great success Other than it being totally cold it sounds like you had a lot of fun. Your puppy is so adorable. Can I ask where you got your wooden crates? I've been trying to find just the right type of crate and the ones you use look really nice.
Ohhh, I got them on Amazon and I love them! I’ll get the link for you. I love the look, and I love that they nest together, so they are easier to transport! Set of 3 Nesting Wooden Crates , Wall Mounted Wooden Basket ,Storage Crate Box for Storage, Display Risers, Decoration a.co/d/j0dLXim
Karen I started to try and make a small monster with worsted weight yarn to practice. I’m hoping that you can suggest something. So is there a trick to being able to count stitches and not lose track of your count? I use the stitch markers, and I even tried using a piece of yarn. I get to round 4 and it’s 1 sc then 1 increase (example) and supposedly I should be ending with an increase but I’m not for the 6 th time in a row. I’m frustrated! Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Yes!!! That’s the worst, it happens to all of us. I promise it gets better. You will find a rhythm that works for you. I almost song the pattern in my head, “one, two, in, crease”. I divide up the word “increase” so it takes two counts. I know it sounds silly, but that’s what works for me most of the time. I hope you’re having better luck! Feel free to message me if you wanna brainstorm!
hi i love your vids! ive been crocheting for awhile but i want to start markets soon, do you have any tips? also did you need to get your sellers license for these events?
Hi there!! Definitely just take the leap and do it!! I spent weeks and week “almost” applying for a market, I was so nervous! And when I finally did, I was even more nervous! But as soon as I got to the market, it was a blast! My best advice is to not stress out too much about your booth setup the first time! You’ll fine tune it as you go! I didn’t need a sellers license, but I know all states are different. I recommend looking for a Facebook group for handmade sellers in your area!
I don’t mean to comment on your prices but just a tip I see with crocheters all the time… when you make a plush for example with Bernat blanket yarn and then acrylic people tend to sell the acrylic for lowers. Such as ($10 and $20). Because of size. But the truth is that the pattern is still the same. The amount of yarn is the only change. The time amount doesn’t change therefore, it’s worth the same amount
You make a great point! Do you tend to keep the price the same regardless of the finished size? I’m going to have to dig deeper into pricing for spring markets. Thanks so much for the feedback. There was artist at one of my shows that made tiny amigurumi, and they were gorgeous! Worth every bit as much as a larger piece.
I was so happy to come and help out! Despite the BONE CHILLING COLD, it was a lot of fun! And if anyone was curious, I made $229 on Sunday! And cuuuuuute hair cut!!! :D

I actually use safety eyes, but I also glue them with fabric glue and putting the back on. Then it's so hard to pull them out
I haven’t tried fabric glue! Do you glue them on the front of the plush? Or inside?
