Memes of yes aside, You should make all the boats You can and stop when You are near 200 pop, when You need to make space for vills and when the water food is out, there You érase the boats
Main problem I have with this strat is if you don't finish the game swiftly, the fish run out and you're only left with a few whales, and end up having to delete half your boats to get population back. I feel like you can accomplish the same level of boom on Sweden with torps but with much less resource investment.
Hey Drongo, I was wondering if you please could add a deep explainatory video on China's strats. It turns out I have been playing for years but never with China. Im actually not that bad of a player, but I started this weekend to learn that civ for the first time and gosh it is really different . It would be a great help I think for all who want to master China.
China always confuses me. I feel like staying age 2 is just straight up bad, but FF'ing everygame and creating a deathball is boring. People "spice" it up by doing a sort of FI then huge age 4 cards.....either way, i dont like it
Hi Aussie Drongo, in your opinion is portugal a good civ for someone (me) that has a defensive playstyle and like more infantry focused armies? I'm trying to find the correct civ to start playing, but i still haven't found a civ that i could main...
Wow I didn't know port water was actually OP! Didn't know 🤯 Anyways, great video man I always appreciate these really detailed guides on strategies, they really help me out in making me feel like a pro 😎
It really depends on if you expect to get hit with an all-in strategy or not. The militiamen are powerful in surprising your opponent, but it’s a high cost and needs to be justified by a large army. And even at that point, you’ll probably need some supporting crossbows or musketeers. Still not a bad idea if you’re going up against a non-booming Civ, though.
Say you make 40 boats that's 800 wood you're saving. Which more than pays for the 300 wood crate you could get. On top of that it reduces the time they are built which is how he gets 61 vills/boats in 10 minutes. He already sends the 700 wood in 2nd age when he ages up. For this strat it would be bad not to get schooners imo.
@@clapz1710 Ok I get your point. But what if you saved the shipment for age 2 to send the 700w and fishing upgrade right away? Also, is 40 boats a good idea? I mean, some maps have only like 4-5 whales, shouldn't I be limiting myself to the amount of whales? Thanks for the reply.
@@isaaccisneros9778 The more fishing boats you have the better the fishing upgrades are so although it will still be good I don't think you need that immediate effect. And also the build time for fishing boats is -40% so I believe that having more fishing boats will definitely benefit the fishing upgrade card pretty quickly. And yes the 40 was just an example. I would not limit to just the amount of whales though because then you're not really water booming at all (If you only made 16 boats it would almost be pointless to send rendering plant in age 2 or schooners, also just my opinion). He still got a crap load of food out of the water in this game even though there wasn't much water.
And remember when you're out of food you just delete the remaining boats that can't collect gold, they already more than made up what they cost at that point.
Unfortunately a vote was held on discord where the option of 3440x1440 or 1920x1080 was given, and 85% of respondents chose a 1920x1080 preference. The world just isn't ready for ultrawide :(
Is it just me, or does pillarless walls not work for anyone else? Units just walk between the cracks... Am I just doing it wrong? I don't see any cracks in the walls in the video.
Im curious as to why you chose whale oil over eco theory at the third shipment. I can't see you exact vil count when you send whale oil in this game, but in the game I watched you play on stream you had just over 50 gatherers when whale oil arrived, meaning eco theory would have been worth about 5 villagers. Whale oil only becomes worth 5 villagers with 14-15 boats on whales. So unless you are already on four whales at that point in the game eco theory should be worth more. Additionally, whales have a very low base gather rate of .5c/s, the lowest base gather rate for any of your gatherers at that point in the game. Eco theory therefore should give more res and in a better distribution than whale oil.
lmao that walless pillar clip, brutal
My fav AOE youtuber, keep it up!!
Just put torps around whales .
hahahaha
great job supporting your tutorial with fitting material. you got a lot better at making them compared to the beginning.
Just one question: How many fishing boats should I make?
Yes

16 boats for whales and around 20 for fishs. Making too much is unnecessary
I actually wound up using a similar build order in a team game with this map like a week ago, and yeah it felt overpowered as hell.

"While the whales may last forever, the fish will not." - The tattoo on my ass.
hahahaha i complete lost it at the pillarless walls, always good to see someone be able to make fun of themselves like that XD

Go Japan, best infantry in the game, and one of the most defensive civs, and one of the strongest.
I've been waiting for this!!

isnt CM a usefull card in this build? you can save your resources by not making any units until your boom is finished? great video btw

Im kinda addicted to the Aussie Party Rock intro. You happir guv'nah?
Just say it Drongo, we know you made this video because you want to share that wallless pillars :)

Is schooners really necessary?
It reduces the cost of fishing boats just by 20w, I wonder if that shipment was better spent somewhere else.

i have to change that portuguese flag of the game, it doesnt look neat
