Origami Graduation Hat Tutorial - Paper Kawaii

- Learn how to make a cute little origami graduation hat! This 'mortarboard' makes a great congratulatory gift for those receiving their diploma or degree. Made from 1 sheet of square paper, you can make a little paper tassel to go on top! 🎓
This is a modification of my previous 'origami round twisted box' ( • Origami Round Twist Bo... ). The top flat part is now completely flat, whereas before it was curved.
I am making mine for a relative who is graduating soon! I hope they like it. You could also make this to be worn by a teddy bear or other stuffed toy!
It can also be a box/bowl of course. At one point it looks like it could be a candle holder or egg cup too.

this is great! I followed this tutorial and it took me at least an hour to finally get it correctly , i am proud of the result
I couldn't do the twisting part so I did it in a different way at last. The wearing part turned out to be a square, like the top part😁😁😁😁😁
how did you interlock the flaps at the 4:15 part timing? we all have no clue.
Ok so you grab the flaps that she grabbed and twist those opposite ways

Did you upload the video specularly? no matter how many times I make it, it always turns with some folding actions exactly opposite at yours! I'm so confused :'D btw thank you, your videos are so helpful!

I have been doing origami for years and have made tons of your models... but you make it really hard to understand how to do the steps at around 10:27...I can’t really see what you’re doing and it’s hard to follow.

I already did it well in my first try 😑. I have only been doing origami for 4-5 years, for time to time not like every week. Just like one origami every few months
Just 1 question, how many creases did you make in the tutorial? Other than that, I find this one really challenging but a lot of f̲u̲n̲! 🙃
It's my first origami and it went great! 😍 Although I had to return from time to time, the result is beautiful. I'll use it as part of a graduation gift for my husband. ♥

Good question! No one knows.
I know, u don’t even need to twist it, he’s just good. U form Rectangles with some of the folds. After like 2 it falls into place, also I do it in the pattern of 1 side over and 1 side under.
My explanation isn’t really good but that’s the best I can do

Ugh.. You just fold it like you expect us to know it, making it hard for beginners like me. It's so hard! And for no reason at all.
This is intermediate level and not intendeded to be easy... maybe try folding the first part/box of this one, th-cam.com/video/HKnQJ80PCgA/w-d-xo.html which is a little easier, and then do this one.

Irritating music, plus puttting the paper's folds in the way so we can't see what's going on is just terrible.
