So anyone can take their picture or video of them. Even if they don't want it. There is no assumption of privacy in a public place. Basic human decency keeps most people from taking photos and videos of strangers, but paparazzi just want to make money, so they don't care about anyone else.

I would definitely correct my kids if they made rude gestures to anyone, however, I would be the first one dealing with the people disrespecting my time with my family if that were me. There are plenty of famous people with kids who never have paparazzi bothering them or photographing them when they're with their kids. The only reason it's happening is because the parents are allowing it. No child should have to grow up that way.
