Glad that you enjoyed this video. C -BTRY 1/7FA , 1st ID here. Old good days back then. Now, I can say that the same way men just build cities, the same way they can make it vanish, disappear as well. At least the mighty battalion HQ still front and center... Thanks for stopping by and please share this video with other vets.
Was station there from 96 to 2000. Hhc 1/7 FA Fisters. Did a deployment to Bosnia and Kosovo from there. Sad to see it shut down, but the barracks are still there.
I was there, '71-'73 Sqdn Commo. Well, I was there when we weren't at Graf or the "Wild Chicken" or Hohenfels or some other equally as unpleasant place. lol! Rows of M113s, M114s, and M551 Sheridans all lined up, now the entire motorpool complex is gone, poof, disappeared, vanished, just weed fields and some slabs now. Only the billets look like the Ledward I remember... then again it was a long time ago but I still remember.
Thanks for serving and I am glad to bring back memories. C- BTRY 1/7 FA here, you know the king of battle, master Howitzer 155mm. Thanks for stopping and please share this video.
I am glad bringing back old memories. All just vanished as mentioned but at least the Mighty Battalion HQ still standing front and center. Thanks for your service and please share this video.
You came a year after me. C btry 1/7FA. Maybe you heard of this nightclub named Megadome, that was the nightclub to be back then. Thanks for your service and please share this video.
It was sad to see the US Army leave. I remember the beautiful, giant christmas tree in front of the main building. And the German-American Volksfest that was celebrated each year inside the Ledward Barracks, but sadly that tradition had to end due to 9/11 when the Barracks were generally closed for the public.
Stationed here from’82-‘84 with A company 2/30INF. Wild boars! Rock of the Marne!
Thanks for sharing this.
Last stepped foot there in 1990! Great memories of Ledward and Germany. One of the best times of my life. HHC 2-15 Infantry
Glad that you got to enjoy your time in Germany while stationed at Ledward Barracks. Thanks for your service.
I was in C Co 9E back in 1997-1999 best and worst 2 years of my life. Place was great
The entire commissary, clubs, and motorpool complex is gone... just weeds and scrub brush and some memories.
