“It’s Called HYPOCRISY” | Julia Hartley-Brewer Takes On Labour MP Over ‘Fake’ Promises

  • Rachel Reeves has insisted she was optimistic about the UK’s economic future as she attempted to persuade critics that there would be no return to austerity under Labour.
The Chancellor will address the Labour Party conference later on Monday as she attempts to strike a more upbeat tone following months of stressing the need to take “tough decisions” to deal with the legacy she inherited from the Tories.
Labour MP Jake Richards joins Talk’s Julia Hartley-Brewer to discuss this further.

Labour politicians are well skilled in telling lies and can come up with plausible excuses when being challenged. But the fact is, they are accepting loads of 'freebies', in addition to their high salaries, which doesn't seem to match with their so called Socialist principles. The phrase 'some are are more equal than others' spings to mind. At least we expected the Tories to act in this way, but the Labour lot try to pretend they only do it because everyone else does.

Why are the poorest of our nation to suffer at the difficult decisions made by this Labour Government. I don't need to hear them blaming a previous Government for all the problems. You are in power to make a difference for the better not to punish those on fixed incomes to now live in fear of how they can pay household bills to survive!! I was taxed all my working life to pay for a livable pension, not to be told I am a freeloader because, in others' opinions, I didn't pay enough!! I have 2 small private pensions which take me above the level for any kind of assistance, every recent pension increase has taken me over the limit and I pay tax on both! I have no standard of living and can see the subliminal push that the elderly are living too long and are better off dead. Sounds extreme but the elderly are becoming disposable, especially to puppet politicians who keep spouting the hard decision mantra, they are the only ones to believe it. They should feel the impact of being cold and afraid to heat their home, I know what I'm talking about I lived this last year! I also want to say I resent being put in this position by wealthy politicians who like Stalin view people as little more than pawns to be used by them. Stalin once said 'one death is a tragedy a million a statistic! I wonder how many tragedies we will have in the UK this winter!!

Yes, it must have been terribly difficult to take money away from the elderly, trying to exist on less than half the living wage, to give it to young train drivers and doctors who were already earning twice or three times the living wage.
In plain English, "It was so hard to decide to kill off a few thousand worthless pensioners to keep our union supporters happy".
