  • Maxar is a leading space technology and Earth intelligence company. Fueled by high-resolution imagery from their satellite constellation, they provide an accurate digital twin of Earth. This accurate 3D model enables mapping, simulation, navigation, network planning and consumer-facing maps and ride-sharing apps.
They continue to expand applications of their 3D data, most recently partnering with the entertainment industry. This video demonstrates ways in which Maxar's satellite imagery and 3D data can be incorporated into the developer workflow of animation and VFX engineers; whether via satellite imagery for texturing purposes, incorporating 3D geospatial data to use as a development canvas, or via procedural terrain generation using Maxar's 3D digital twin of Earth to simulate an environment. Maxar converts real-world 3D polygon mesh data to USD format, providing a high-resolution textured landscape. Additionally, through a partnership with blackshark.ai, Maxar exports both geospecific and geotypical 3D buildings in USD format.

How can the average person access the imagery? Is there real-time imagery? Also, how many individual cameras do you have in orbit? Does a government or military agency vet the imagery before it is made public? Thank you for considering my questions! This was an exciting bit of new information - thanks for the video! 💯

With AI and multpiple photos from different satellites, they can actually increase the resolution even more.
