I love how in his interviews John says to all the famous guitarists “Oh, I’m not a great player like you.” And then he does gear reviews and plays a perfectly executed swing-guitar tune with no mistakes.. lol 😆 love ya John!
I was going to buy a Guild recently but ran across a Martin D35 for a price I couldn't say no to. But I still want a Guild. Glad to see Guild build a less expensive Rosewood guitar.
Have a 2011 Guild D50 built in Connecticut which is an outstanding instrument in playability and sound. . Also own a Guild D55, Taylor 615 and Martin M36. The D50 may be my favorite. Awesome guitar.
Nice to see Guild USA back!! These are great guitars especially for the singer songwriter. They don't drowned out your voice but have just enough quality tone! Rock on!!
I got my sister a D-50 back in '77 (via some trades and negotiations). The guitar is a cannon! Not the easiest to play but it is LOUD. Sorry to see it lose the chesterfield on the headstock. Guild has always been underrated IMHO.

My 1988 D50 is sooooo happy now!!!!
You can always tell when John is enjoying himself and loving the instrument.
Stunning guitar. Love that thin finish

I have one of the first D30's made, was also marked G37bl. It is very over built and heavy but it's great for recording, very balanced volume and tone
Was that "Hit the Road Jack"? I think it was. Always love your demos John. I have got to try one of these D50's.
Always enjoyed John's presentations.

Great playing john....
Really nice guitar. I'll keep my eyes open for it.
Superb playing John!
Great review and great playing John. Cheers.
Yamaha hasn’t missed a beat since taking Guild over from Fender. Another JB master demo.
Cordoba owns Guild, not Yamaha.
Yamaha purchased the Cordoba Music group in early 2023.
@@kidguzzi_chrisgalardi Not a bad thing, Yamaha know how to make musical instruments.
just love your playing Mr Bollinger!!! hello from Minot nd usa!
Yes!
Nice one John. Cool enough. Thanks.
Nice intro... and very smooth tone.
The Shop the Guild D-50 Standard link is wrong. It's linked to the Guild D-40 Traditional Acoustic Guitar - Antique Burst page at Sweetwater.
Fender does Guild dirty! Bring back the nitro finishes
Yamaha owns guild now.
@@jerryarmenta131 so they do! Shame on them. They own Ampeg too and we have no Dan Armstrong re-issues.
Jon mentions nitro about a dozen times when talking about the specs?
Some tasty playing, sir
If you going to demo a high end dread like this one, you gotta play some flatpicking...
