Now this, this is how you film a natural event! The camera's held steady and in landscape, the person filming doesn't bottle it and lower the camera at the precise moment the event happens - despite them often being far from the danger - and everything's clear and in focus. Top marks, I say!
Wow, that was amazing footage of the eruption! The enormous black cloud of ash and gases, and the speed of the pyroclastic flow were so clear. The speed with which it came down the mountain was incredible. Thanks
3 years later and I am still waiting for the "BOOM"--- yet I am still mesmerized by the camera work.

I’m Italian, and I’ve visited Stromboli 3 times already. The last time was just a few days ago, and I was on a boat enjoying the eruption at night. I saw the most beautiful mini lava eruptions (“mini” meaning like 40-80 meters tall) and it was a once in a lifetime view that really shocked me. But I had NO idea that Stromboli was THIS powerful. I’m guessing the island was evacuated beforehand and no one was hurt, right?
Me and the hubby sailed past Stromboli in 2019 while on a cruise. It is constantly active and has been in continuous eruption for 2,000- 5,000 years. It was amazing to see.
