Hello my fellow overlord. Great Breakpoint content! One question though. How do you keep weapons/Do you have to break them down? Do you just find the same gun in random boxes and take them apart to upgrade other guns or are there certain guns you can forever that level up with your character?
As far as your question, I’m going to talk about that in another video, but there’s certain bases in the game that have specific guns, and you can also get guns randomly off of enemies’ loot drops. You will want to upgrade your guns eventually, but as long as you upgrade your other gear in your gear score, you’ll be able to use a favorite weapon for a while, and there’s several ways where you can get your favorite weapon again. As far as the Mark system though, there are currently 3 Mark levels, and that will probably be the case at launch.

This system is over complex and needless. A gun is a gun the accessories you equip and the characters skill tree should be the only thing that decided this. It’s nice to see change but wildlands was better. It’s proof that everyone that describes the system seems confused or has to harp on about it.

Dave B no. The mark system gives small bonus to every single copy of a weapon, regardless of what tier that weapon is on. A mark 3 elite weapon isn’t better than a mark 3 improved weapon because of the Mark system, it’s better because the tier system gives a separate set of bonuses unrelated to the mark system, and the higher you go in tier the better bonuses you get from that a separate set of bonuses. Hope this helped clear things up.
1) can I get eg the vector again once I've disassembled it? 2) how do I know which weapons are the best for my playstyle? 3) does it matter which gun I use or do I need some specific ones later in the game to progress? 4) is it just all cosmetics or does it really matter?
I don't understand the gun upgrade system at all. I mean, the reason for it. I have a level 7 assault rifle and all of its stats are better than all of the much higher level assault rifles I have (some of which are level 24 in terms of gear score). The comparison shows the damage, range, rate of fire etc and this doesn't change with upgrading does it? It's weird that the first two guns I picked up while investigating the initial heli crash mission, are better than every gun I've picked up since, there just seems to be no point in using any other gun.
Agree that's what I can't get my head around - picked up higher level guns say blue ( same gun.. etc ) with higher numbers yet my green is reading higher stats realy pissing me off feels like you need to go on a focking course to understand what's going on been reading up on it still no wiser, im probably breaking and selling better guns than I have but not according to the stats absolutely ridiculously... This will be the death of this game for me unless I can work it out, when I get a game I want to play the thing not spend half my time trying by trial and error and guess work to sort the thing out absolutely ridiculous....

Hey man do you know how to get standard weapon parts after you moved passed them? Because Gold gun upgrade requires standard parts. Can’t get them or buy them so everyone may wanna hold onto standard parts.
sRecollet you get them by dismantling either blue Tier or purple tier weapons (can’t remember which one is in the Advanced category off the top of my head.)
Alan Smith I get it. I personally don’t prefer this system either, I would have liked the return of the Wildlands system with the specific attachment stats of Breakpoint included.
Alan Smith yeah, Ubisoft making their games the same or similar to each other is going to create problems for them down the line. Not everything needs to be an RPG.

Yes it is a tactical looter shooter like The Division, but when gear score is at an equal level it plays like Wildlands. You’re not doing mag dump after mag dump into human enemies like The Division. 2. Yeah, the always online is dumb and I wish there was an offline mode for single player. I have good internet though so I haven’t had much of an issue. 3. Ubisoft said in E3 that AI teammates are coming back sometime post-launch. No one knows when, though. The game is playable in solo, though.
@penguin Overlord I am trying to upgrade director but is stuck at MK2 and is refusing to let me upgrade to MK3 I have tons of open parts but it’s not letting me upgrade what do I do
Do you have the Mk3 upgrade skill? If not you’ll need to get it. If you do, it’s a glitch (I had it happen before). Try quitting the game and loading back in, that fixed it for me.

The VHSD2 is actually real believe it or not. It's based on the HS Produkt VHS Bullpup Assault Rifle developed in Croatia.

They turn "bright white" when that Mk is completed. They are grayish when Mk is not completed.

Do you know whether when you dismantle a weapon can you retrieve it? By replaying the same mission or you can no longer get it back?

It’s a HUD setting that you have off, most likely. Also you only go up to level 30 in Breakpoint.
