- First time watching Anne With an E! Commentary and Reaction to Season 2 Episode 4! Best episode of the season so far? Very possibly. We have a new addition to the unholy trinity of nasty men, a scolding that triggers a meltdown from Anne (and me), and a whole ass arm being added to the already overpopulated equation of childbirth. I think the birth scene helped Gilbert to reframe some of his heartbreak over losing both his parents young. The idea that he could help someone else after such loss in his own life is cathartic. And gives direction to this aimless self-exploration he's been doing away from Avonlea.
It was so touching when Matthew said "I have you!". We can sort of understand what Anne was trying to do, but when Matthew found out, it was devestating to Anne in the way Matthew reacted, because she loved him so much. She hurt the person that meant the most to her. If it wasn't for him, she probably would have been sent back to the orphange. It was he who changed her miserable life that it was up to that point for the better. There must've been a lot of real life situations up there where you had 2 family members running a farm back in those days, no tv, no radio, a life where you don't interact with neighbors very often. How boring that must've been. Then to have someone like Anne come into your life. She brought a fair amount of trouble into their lives, but the joy and the liveliness she brought, far out weighed that.
I completely feel you on the Matthew disappointed with Anne scene! Matthew was totally right not to approve of Anne's actions, but I could also understand her despair after hearing it, the feeling of disappointing someone who cares so much about you and is so kind, it's really heartbreaking. Now, as for the Barrys storyline, it's really beautiful to see where they end in the episode, but girl, let me tell you, I also cannot stand that man (Mr. Barry). Gilbert and Bash's adventure is just so exciting, and yes, the Bash scene where he calls himself "slow" is really heartbreaking! Nevertheless, I hope you're enjoying this experience, it just gets better and better!!
I was worried that you might’ve stopped with the reactions. So happy to see you still posting them! Gilbert ends up being a doctor in the books and the childbirth was the quintessential event to lead him in that direction at least in the show. I’m so excited for you to watch the rest of the season☺️

I'm gonna be brutally honest something I noticed different from your channel and other channels in terms of me clicking on the reaction videos, is the thumbnail. I would recommend adding the season and episode ur on for each reaction. Since the titles are long its hard to find out which video is the first and which one is next. For example this one is 2 x 4 in terms of season and episode. Overall clicking on each video and hearing you say what episode it is helps too

You should totally read the Anne of green Gables book series ! They are great! and even the original Anne of Green Gables series from the 80's with Megan Follows is excellent if you are craving more after you have finished this show

I was going to check out your patreon, but I can't spend $7.50 a month just for reaction videos. If it's because you're too busy to edit, though, that's understandable. I was just wondering if you're going to keep posting here, too.
No not rude! The reason I haven’t been posting on TH-cam is because I haven’t had time to edit. I’m still a full-time student with a job and internship on top of the TH-cam videos so since I don’t have to edit for Patreon, they go up quicker than TH-cam. I’m editing the episode 5 reaction and hope to be posting in the next couple days so yes I’m going to keep posting and they will still be up on TH-cam! :))
