This bag paired with the 20L Everyday Backpack Zip is a great travel combo. Tech, camera, water bottle etc in the EDB Zip, all clothing and toiletries in the Travel Duffel.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts. I will likely purchase the 35L to fit with my 20L EDB and use it for clothing/toiletries.
Been traveling with the EDB 20L v2 and the Travel Duffel 35L, and depending on what you carry, it can be the perfect combo.
If you pack the duffel with heavy stuff, it becomes very unwieldy in combination with the backpack, and the sling becomes awkward. The hand handles are also not the most comfortable when loaded up.
The most comfortable way to carry this in conjunction with the EDB is to convert it to backpack mode and wear it on your back, and then wear the EDB on your front, but then you look kinda ridiculous, but it works.
But if you are only packing lightly in the duffel, then the hand handles or the sling can work just fine while you’re also wearing the EDB.
But just my two cents, don’t plan to have a good time if you have to walk through large airports from gate to gate with this combo. It’s a total pain, and challenging to use the restroom if you travel alone and don’t have anyone to watch your stuff for you.
I do like that this combo maximizes my carryon space utilization, with the EDB 20L as my under seat personal item, and the duffel as the overhead bin bag, and while the duffel is not as feature reach as the Travel Backpack 45L, it does offer more flexible carrying options to use in conjunction with another backpack.
Have it and it's great with Peak Designs packimg cubes etc...
Handles needs a rework thou, they aren't the most comfortabe. I liked that you had it tilted 90 ° when using it with the "neckstrap'!

How is it waterproofed in real life?
Glad it helped! - It's coated with a weatherproof coating so it will help with protecting your gear from the wet. But it's not 100% waterproof, so water will eventually seep in if you keep it in water's way. Hope that helps! - Ed

Anyone had any issues with the size when using it as carry on on aircraft? I noticed the official dimensions are slightly bigger than the requirements of Jetstar and Qantas....but given the style of bag, I'm hoping it would be ok?

@@RushfasterTV Thanks....I am more worried about our domestic requirements here in Australia...generally 56 x 36 x 23 cms....the duffel is just a bit bigger and some of our domestic airlines can be a bit picky.
