The conversion to UK spec looks nice, too bad that they didn't (or couldn't) keep the original Audio announcement system and fare box which is used in Hong Kong but at least they didn't remove the aircon system. -I'm also surprised that they didn't remove the "Bus Full" sign on the front there- (NOPE that's just the temporary license plate)...

The equipments hv been holding by KMB, and bus full signal has been showing on the dest. display since 2009 🤗

I love the UK conversion there! However 1 does wonder how long untill its got standard hopper windows fitted seeing as most UK buses that relied on Aircon the units have broken & had higher fuel use.

Curious about why the staircase didn't confirm to UK standards.Seems odd that Wrightbus would design one that wasn't.Particularly for a one-off demonstrator.

@@jasonwong1272 no, KMB didn't cancelled the order, they sold these buses to sun bus company, and they kept one for themselves, and then they bought Enviro500 MMC 11.3m. There is two reason why this bus went to England, It was reported that the financial situation of Wrightbus was in great crisis, which led to the suspension of the bus.And the other reason is the air-conditioning system of the bus failed to restart after a sudden breakdown while traveling on KMB 88 in the afternoon of October 4, 2019; and Wrightbus has no official agent in Hong Kong to follow up, and foreign manufacturers are required to deliver the relevant parts on their behalf. suspension status, it then left Hong Kong on February 20 and was transported back to the UK.

This bus was bought by KMB in 2018 and it run for KMB for a year. The reason why this bus was sold to Ensign Bus is because during October 2019, the air-con of this bus is broken and cannot be reopened. During that time, Wright Bus was facing some financial issues which force KMB to stop using this bus since there are very less parts available for this bus and it would take a long time to ship. Therefore in 2020, KMB decided to return this bus back to Wright and then sold it to Ensign Bus.

This bus was in service in hong kong for one day and is forced to retire due to it being unreliable
Moreover, the buses didn’t fulfill the requirements of the transport authority of Hong Kong so they have to make some modifications in this thing
50 of these were ordered from KMB and due to the retirement of the first one and the delay of registration
KMB cancelled the order for these buses and they changed to order Enviro 500 MMC 11.3M
These bus were intended to replace the aging Volvo Super Olympian 10.6m and Dennis Trident 10.6m.
Such a shame it didn’t come into service for long
However, KMB did place some orders for these street-decks a few years later for it’s subsidiary Sun Bus to run residential shuttle services from Park Island to Tsuen Wan and they are running perfectly fine till this date. I even get the chance to ride on one and I can tell it’s simply a very well done bus.
The bus in this video is registered at W6S1 in KMB Fleet was sent back to UK after a couple months. Can’t believe it can run service in this term. Hopefully they won’t change the livery on this bus.

Probably from a system KMB installed previously warning drivers they are: speeding, over-revving etc.
Beeps a lot when the driver floors the gas pedal.
      Not 100% sure tho...

It’s a warning system installed in the programmed dash of requirements of KMB for the drivers to have a warning signal at speeds of 50 and 70km/h. 50 is for reminding the drivers not to over speed in the average city and urban roads while 70 is the maximum on highway
