- For a long time, Joni Eareckson Tada asked the Lord to set her free from her confinement to a wheelchair. Instead of answering that prayer, He gave her a different kind of freedom. Joni will explain why your unanswered prayers may be the backdrop for a deeper healing and a new understanding of freedom in Christ in this message given at the True Woman '14 Conference in Indianapolis on October 9, 2014.

An amazing testament to the love of God, the grace of Jesus Christ and the communion of the Holy Spirit. What a gift Joni Eareckson Tada is to the body of Christ, to the disabled and to the world. Thank you Lord for molding Joni so we can more fully folllw in your freedom and fullness and fruitfulness.
What a truly Godly woman- she puts me to shame- when I think of my life and the complaining I do - she is more free than I am certainly in her spirit if not in her body . She really is amazing

Joni is so honest she makes me cry ! 😢 A beautiful ambassador for Christ. Joni has remained faithful, steadfast and true and unwavering in her faith all these years since her accident . When I pray for Joni I imagine her one day with her beautiful new imperishable body riding on a magnificent horse through beautiful fields with a most handsome riding companion at her side ...our Saviour the Lord Jesus ! Oh how wonderfully, painfully deep and authentic you are Joni. This is helping me cope better with my husbands' dx of early onset dementia as well as loss of jobs, friends and familiarity in life due to our own choices as well as others. Painful! But yes, after some years now I am finally coming to this place of "only Jesus". And of course the best really is to come....

Joni,I have just found You on Utube! I have known Your accident! We used to see friends at Cheaspeake Ranch side! Itnwas so beautiful! Years passed I bought Your books & Send for Your calehdars..I fell & had a spinal cord injury in 1999 I WAS PARALYZED .FINALLY AFTER 6 WEEKS,THEY DECIDED IT WAS INCOMPLETE! I NEEDED SURGERY'S IT WASN'T UNTIL MY SECONG I REALIZED THIS WAN'T GOING TOGET A LOT BETTER?I LOST MY JOB & AFTER ALL THESE YEARS I AM IN A WHEEL CHAIR WITH 5 SURGERIES LATER,I AM DEPENDENT ON MY HUBBY! I USED TO HAVE YOUR CASSETTES ! GOD HAS WORKED ON MY "PRIDE" MY STUBBORNESS,ON &ON! I WILL BE LISTENING TO ALL THESE MESSAGES! YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL PERSON! GOD HAS DONE SO MUCH IN EVERYONE;S LIFE!ESPECIALLY NOW AS THE LORD HAS GIVEN ME 8 GRANDCHILD & 4 GREAT-CHILDREN! I do take the "spot light " TOO OFTEN! Even when You announced You had "Breast Cancer,I was un the hospital ( having 4 other surgeries ) The 5th being the hardest.I cried all night ,I could not believe Our Lord has givn You a disease that killed My Mom....... Yet,He brought You through! i remember thinking HE Has more YET ! You are a example to everyone! Your didn't get a great marriage easily ! You had to work at it!

Yes, Joni is already teaching me about whining. Each one of us needs Jesus in our lives to help us get rid of being selfish and start living. We need Jesus 'SO BADLY' in our lives. Jesus is our resurrection and life. I myself worked for a C4-5 quadriplegic and know first hand the struggles this man went through. Never felt sorry for himself. Ran for town council twice. I was with him 13 years, 24/7.

Today as I listen to this Joni, my soul thru the suffering I too cry out to God not to desire self pity, grumbling and negativity. But to be in His presence and be filled with His joy and my suffering being in my rear window. To look forward running the race and be filled with Him. Today while reading one section each day in Psalms 119:26- 32. He spoke to me and my heart because I desire His will.
While I'm sleeping I wake up with pain I remember you and all the handicaps and people struggling with their lost love ones I after I get peace. Remember Jesus got us. !🙏

I am so thankful for Joni and her testimony. I often tell others of her as I tell them of Christ's remarkable healing power. I too have experienced a different kind of healing, not the one I asked for, and OH the BLESSING of illness/suffering!
Wow!Joni Tada that message encouraging me I also feels depressed sometimes specifically when I try to walk or talk. Before I was a teacher ,1st place in running, bolibal and tennis however,ever time I go to church my husband and kids make sure they hold me so I don't fall and also my friends.

Roman8:28 All things work together for those who love the lord .We all have to drink our bitter cup in life but if we endure till the end God will give us a cup of blessing.God will never give us more than we can bear that what keep me going....he will reward our pain at the same time we have to learn to love him in good time and bad time...believe it or not he share our pain he cry with us and rejoice with us he has experience suffering himself so he understand what we are going through
