I remember going to Persepolis (Parse) and being at a lost for words, do to the size, grandeur and beauty. One of the greatest archeological structures/sites from the ancient world. Iranian gov. needs to do more to preserve these historical sites, which are snapshots of different chapters in our long history of Iran. Unfortunately much of the archaeological sites in Iran are underfunded and badly managed. (mostly because they are pre islamic historical architecture.)

Zoroastrianism was what I believe the practice at that time. Please forgive me and correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm going by my memory, not GooGle. But I do know that they had FREEDOM of RELIGION and home of the true ARYAN heritage, NO SLAVERY allowed, No harm to any man and woman... I know it's in stone at the entrance. Or I am 99% sure, along with other laws that most countries didn't have, admirable laws.

I was here in 1983~84, and I remember this place had an energy undeniably powerful. I will never forget the beauty of the scrolls and detail in the hair of the horses. I also remember a burial tomb but it doesn't seem to match up with any posted sites. Educate about Persia, now Iran. The truth stated at gates is beautiful and sad since today's Iran represents a complete broken, hypocritical, degrading system in comparison to the true roots. Freedom of religion, Zoroastrianism being, I believe, the practice of many. No slavery, no treatment that was threatening to one's welfare, and OMG. I hate politics, no matter where it's from. Nothing is real, nothing is what it seems. Plasticity, twisted greed, fanatical RELIGION is a CRIME AGAINST humanity and the representation of the TRUTH about my heritage.

If our society appreciated art as much as the ancients , no artist would be broke

I don’t know why Iran or people are not building such things today.
