So the interesting thing about trap is there are like 2 genres of music that are all called trap, 2 of which are sub-genres of rap and 1 is a types of EDM. There's a type of southern rap called trap which has like T.I., I think Big K.R.I.T., etc., and then there's the super popular form of hip-hop today that's called trap. However, there is also the EDM type of trap which emphasizes rather "minimalistic" beat drops but there's also a bunch of diversity within the genre, the song Animals by Martin Garrix is an early form of trap.

I thought trap sounded more like hip-hop. I’m kinda new to the genre so I’m not exactly sure. It’s not a bad song though.
