Mizuki’s S1 is better against single (or two if with module) targets, which doesn’t occur too often, especially when the talent only triggers on the lowest HP enemy, which is probably a non-important target. Meanwhile, a problem that Ascalon has for her S1 is that it hits twice, resulting in the enemy’s DEF affecting it more compared to Mizuki's heavy single strike. In that case… why not bring both? They perfectly covered each other weaknesses.
@Zack_Zander just like my another comment manticore + Mizuki is a pretty decent squad. For now, ascalon has a better cc than ascalon and does a pretty decent damage they will work perfectly together
Alternatively for stalkers, what Mizuki needs is an extension skill, or a top up skill duration that is not yet available in any character, since his kit is on numbers of enemies, a battlefield that is full of enemies like the ones demonstrated should give Mizuki and especially him but not for Ethan, Kirara or Manticore - a skill duration extension+ other effects, like after 3 kills, + 2 seconds / after 5 kills + 5 seconds and slow/ after 10 kills + slow and bind chance 25% etc The more effects the better. As is the only way for Mizuki to compete with Ascalon is to have AAk buff him, and Angelina on standby buff as well.

In that case, Mizuki and Ascalon literally covered each other weaknesses. Mizuki’s S1 is good against a +DEF single target but bad against a swarm of enemies. this video kinda misleading since all the scenarios are just land-holding and it’s never been mizuki’s role. if you watch Arknights What If Project’s video you can clearly see against high def enemies, mizuki can do much better compare to ascalon. at the end of the day, no one’s gonna just bring 1 operator to solo the whole map, so as long as mizuki can kill enemies with the help of defenders, he’s gonna be fine
Well the greatest difference they have is that Mizuki is a instant DPS/nuke type while Ascalon is a crowd control and Damage over time. Being able to slow down the enemies makes a lot of difference on how many DPS the operator can inflict, and remember Ascalon is a DOT type and can slow so she is obviously always fighting on her own ground. But as what Sciel says it's a new vs. old so we can already guess that Ascalon is going to be better than Mizuki
Ascalon's atk speed is somthing else, her entire kit makes her superior to all the other stalkers as they all have slow attack speed. So if a module exists, the one for her should be about her atk numbers or slow duration. And for Mizuki it should be for his atk speed.
I wish I could say Mizuki still has a nice single target damage, but Ascalon slows enemies and they take damage over time, how is Mizuki gonna be better than her in any situation? Even if a new delta module arrives, won't she eventually get one too? Won't she grow even stronger herself when her time comes?
Not always, there are operators that don't get a Delta module. Also, there are also some who don't receive a second module either (even if both modules don't help them as much, such as Phantom’s two modules vs Texa-Alter and Yato-Alter single module)
Except, Ascalon CC effectively makes her better at killing than Mizuki. Big damage barely matters if the enemy is already outside of his range before he could kill them. The video literally shows it.

Also making a solo showcase completely undermines Mizuki, he isnt supposed to be alone on a lane as Ambushers have slow attack speeds, they are a external aoe dps tool that breaks the pressure on the wave while dealing good damage to everyone there, only other units thats capable of these are Chalter and executor alter then that cant do it passively. Why are several of these tests manipulated to make Mizuki look worse than he actually is? You fit Manticore into several of the runs so ascalon can cram her damage stacks in where she normally wouldnt be able to, had mizuki s2 go against massive waves when his bind is supposed to be against small numbers at a time. And you intentionally faced his s3 backwards so he had 1 tile LESS to hit enemies when he should have 1 MORE than Ascalon

Why she is not executor beyond me, ambushers very niche, and line holder always better. Ethan still the king of is with perma bind. You don't need cc in 99% of content and when you need (dos) suzuran and saria just supreme for that. Like crashers, you can use them... but why?
There is no way Ascalon could have stood up to the level of Texas alter or Yato alter. If you watch max risk clears they definitely need more CC than just Suzuran and Saria. Personally I am very pleased with how Ascalon turned out.

Not really, Ascalon is strong against crowds (which would be expected for this type of class) while Mizuki is better going against a single-target enemy, usually one with a high DEF. This would be something Ascalon is not able to do, due to focusing more on crowd damage, and her S1 doing two separate hits means DEF would affect it more.

@@nuginurohman7613 It's more that those people just don't want to bother knowing how and where to use Mizuki in harder content compare to other easier-to-learn operators. Plus, he still does a lot of damage, just that the additional 450% Arts damage on top of his S1 only targets the enemy with the lowest HP. (540% Arts damage to 2 enemies with lowest HP with module)

맨 처음 캐릭 설명 읽었을 땐 미즈키는 딜에, 아스카론은 cc에 중점을 뒀구나 했었는데 풀육성 해둔거 비교해보니 딜도 마찬가지로 아스카론이 비교우위에 있는 거 같네

딜이 미즈키보다 못하더라도 이미 압도적 cc기 덕에 가치가 충분한 대원일텐데
옛날엔 저지하고 매복자를 쓰는걸 전제로 하고 설계했는데 이젠 유틸에 따른 비저지형 딜링의 가치가 높아져서 아스카론이 다른 동류오퍼비교 보다 더 좋아보이는듯
