What a wonderful experience jenks and Matilda, you fell so lucky to see not only a mum with a babi but a big male also This I think will be my favourite video you’ve done so far on your travelling Thank you for sharing it x
Great video from two highly talented people. This video could easily have been shown on any wildlife programme on mainstream television- well done it’s a wonderful job.
What a wonderful experience. You got some great shots. I've seen Archie before, he seems to often walk around like that, holding himself. That big male was very impressive.
Truly an incredible experience! Little Archie 🥹 I hope it’s not from a prior injury! He’s very cute and much smaller than the male at the end haha! Thank you for taking your time to watch, it’s appreciated a lot❤️
@@JenksandMatilda Yes, Archie is such a cutie pie. I don't know if his holding himself is a form of self soothing, or it could be that he is just copying some human behavior that he observed. They are amazing creatures, normally learn from watching their mothers, but the orphans learn from each other and also mimic behavior they see in humans, too. I enjoyed your video so much, you did such a great job of capturing some great behaviors.
It seems like a great sanctuary with orangutans living comfortably and in appropriate environment. Unfortunately a lot of zoos, sanctuaries etc aren't good for the animals residing inside. I'm happy you're supporting this place
It seemed a very calm place for them❤️ we don’t support Zoo’s as we feel most are unethical so we were pleasantly surprised that this sanctuary lived up to its reviews of been a great place for them to be! Thank you for watching ❤️
Hello dear. Now you in Indonesia, yesterday is Independent day of Indonesia and there must many activities of people's matches, please enjoy to explore.
correction, no fencing, just boardwalk, Orang Utan free roaming. its not SUnbear Roaring, Pygmy Elephant Roaring. This centre have 5-6 rescue baby elephants
Oh that’s so interesting! Thank you for that! We didn’t even know they rescued elephants, we didn’t see signs or mentions of it when there, can you visit them?? I would have loved to have seen them also! 🤗 It was guard who told us the sun bears like to roar loudly like that, it was dinner time I’m guessing 🫢🫢 Thank you for watching ❤️
These orangutans haven’t had the best start to life unfortunately, a huge amount of them rescued from circuses, being used as pets, injured, so not fit ready for the wild, some do get released but some are too heavily reliant on humans due to their past. They are free roaming in huge amounts of acres but still well protected from poachers, no cages! Without the visit of tourists the place may struggle to survive. Whilst we don’t agree with zoo’s upon visiting this place, I can say we were so happy with how it runs. Thanks for watching ❤️
Ohhh..Our understanding is the island as a whole (for all 3 countries) is known internationally as Borneo and ‘Kalimantan’ is the Indonesian translation for Borneo, used to refer to the Indonesian parts of the island, is this correct? We were not exploring Indonesia this time just Malaysia, in the state of Sabah. We assumed Borneo was the correct name given the location. Either way, thank you for watching our video 😊

The alpha male orangutan and the background music at the end of the video, remind me the character Maurice from planet of the apes, very cool.

Poor orangutans, its seems a circus, too much tourist, animals are used for to do money. They have to be Free in the forest.

start saying the name of the island right It's Kalimantan...would you like it if we called the British island, pulau bau?
