Small correction...number of tasks need to be equal to number of executors.. if one executors has 5 cores.. number of tasks running on one executor will be 5.

Executor can have many tasks. Depends on cores. #cores=#tasks.

what is the scope of the executor process? will it die after completing the given task? or will wait for another task with narrow transformations ?
