- [AUDIO ONLY] Talk given Saturday morning, September 24, 2005, to a Men's Retreat at Camp Elohim, Idaho. This talk highlights the unique relationship between a husband and wife, as a picture of Christ's love for his people, the church.
I noticed that he didn't mention that Jesus Christ also has a head, (someone who is superior to him). And since most of those listening to the reading of 1 Samuel already think of Jesus as being Lord, and he is Lord (only not the LORD mentioned in this scripture) they automatically assume that when they see the word Lord in 1 Samuel, They think it's Jesus. But that is not the case, the God of both King David and Abigail was Jehovah not Jesus. The one who is head of Jesus as 1 Corinthians says. They are not one and the same. This man, this preacher said a prayer ending it in the name of Jesus, (which is correct to do). Because the prayer is being directed to Jehovah not Jesus, so when a human prayes to God, Jehovah, he cannot pray on the basis or the merit of himself (no matter how good a person he may be). Whatever he or she prays for to God, to Jehovah must be asked for in the name or merit or sacrifice of Jesus, God's Son. Or as the apostle Paul puts it, Jesus is the Mediator between God, Jehovah and men. There are three distinct persons involved in a prayer 1) The person, (man or woman) praying the prayer 2) The Mediator, Jesus or the go-between or advocate and 3) God, Jehovah, who on the basis of recognizing the sacrifice of his dear Son accepts the prayer. A person can never pray in his own name or in the name of Jehovah only in the name of Jesus. It's good that he gives counsel on headship but it must be given along with accurate knowledge or accurate understanding of everything involved here.
Are you Jehovah's witness or unitarian?
Wow...this is Strange take on Sola Scriptura& very confusing&fractured.
Please,...because of Jesus ,
I am totally reconciled to ELOHIM- no need for elaborate processes of " weather my prayers or being is accepted" by Abba Father ❤
I can't find Jehovah in my Hebrew Old Testament, I see Adonai & the tetragrammaton YHWH? Who was God talking to when He said; Let us make man in our image?
@@natalieamberger2432 I be the Original Post was from Jehovah's Witness, who deny the trinity, and believe Jesus to be a created being less than God the Father
(I have always wondered how God the Father could be "merciful" and "just" if Jesus is nothing more than a whipping boy. When a Christian who believes in the trinity consideres the sacrifice of Jesus, God is paying the debt Himself, which seems much more noble than creating a whipping boy). Perhaps I misunderstand JW theology
