I'm going to plug back in the push start and try holding the brake to see if it starts. It's been 2 years since I drove the crx so I forgot all about that ...
Happy belated Birthday to your daughter! Getting the car started and even idling is a massive step. When I was building my current Miata and redid everything, I made my own harnesses. I'll never do that again and gladly pay someone else. The relief and joy I felt when I got it running after installing the home made harness was huge. Lots of people do start projects and get bored, frustrated or just out of their depth and give up. It's little milestones that give you the energy to keep chipping away at it. I had an Alpha Romeo that I put braided lines and the difference was negligible, The only real difference I felt was in my wallet. Congrats on the first start, thats a huge milestone
Thank you! Building your own harness is a real mvp move! Lol . Don't know if I would ever attempt something like that 🤔 . That must having been an amazing feeling to know your harness n build all came together 💪 it is a huge milestone, makes me real happy just knowing I'll be able to drive what I built.... I'm sure the first test drive would reveal some problems, hopefully nothing crazy lol
I came for the genuine parts, stayed for the genuine reaction bro 😂, coming from someone who turned every bolt on my 4th gen and combed through every single wire wire doing a complete harness tuck inside and out I appreciate this
Time, it can be your friend and it can be your enemy. You have done so many things to the CRX over the years it would only make sense that you would have to sift through the all of the modifications in order to locate any inconsistencies that may be preventing the engine from starting. I was on the edge of my seat too watching you piece together the bread crumbs that led to the engine starting. Bittersweet. So glad it lives and breathes on your girl's birthday. More CRX adventures are headed this way!!
I feel like I should have kept better track of were everything goes, it's going to be some real head scratches when trying to put the dash back together lol . It sure was great seeing all my hard work come together. Much more work ahead ! I want to get it ready for the first test drive 👍
Cant believe its been 7 years. I remember when you brought it home. Im so happy for you. Its been a crx journey to say the least. Enjoy the moment my youtube friend. Woo hoo!!!
All this time it's just been a engine sitting there, now that I know it actually starts and runs I look at it different. It makes me happy to see everything come together. When people would ask if it runs I was always say "I don't know, it's either going to run or blow up" 😅 . Now I know it runs nicely 💯
I’ve watched the CRX Restoration playlist multiple times already. And now seeing the car run for the first time, makes me really happy. Can’t wait to see the body work/paint videos. Congrats!!
Thank you! I'm glad the engine is sounding healthy, and it starts almost instantly. Must be the high compression because it seems like the engine barely makes a full rotation and it's already running 💪
Lol thanks, It actually scared me at how fast it starts. I expected some amount of cranking and then it eventually starts... but it starts up crazy fast.
What a great video❤. I've been watching you for a long time. I remember you putting in the "sound dampening" stick on stuff way back. You've helped me fix my own cars with your videos. I'm super happy for you. Glad to see your hard work pay off. Can't wait to see your first cruise. Keep it up man. Thanks.
Man time flies brother, feels like yesterday I was just requesting help from you to show a video on replacing the serpentine belt on the versa 😂. Your content is great Jonathan, I always feel like I take away some knowledge when I watch. Congrats on getting it to start up! You really are a master of your craft. Keep up the great work! Ps. I’m still bitter I lost the 50/50 coin toss for the shirt you gave out hahahaha😂 Take care brother
Shitttt my poor rexy been sitting for 6 years but it's about time for it to get back on the road just need a stable job, the Money, and some more patience 🙏🏽 God show me a path towards better Honda day's and bless all who are in the Car culture. Amen.
Had someone told me years ago how much it would cost to do a proper k swap.... I probably would have just went B series 🤣 I'm sure once I get it driving the K will be worth it 👌
Congratulations! Went through similar drama with my FI conversion. Pretty sure the Haltech uses VE tables for fueling like mine and hopefully it has an auto tune system. I'm no expert but if I can help I will.
Thank you, I'm pretty sure you're correct. I need to get a air / fuel ratio sensor installed so that the softwares self learn function will kick in. Of course I'll need to get a proper tune on it. I'm not looking forward to the fixing the wiring mess inside the car...
@@themechanic6117 ❤️❤️ love the dedication you put out there making these videos ik there not easy to make & doing the work ❤️ will be looking forward for a POV driving it
how did you get your jdi ghost push button to work. Ive have the same issue with my k swap in both of my cars. i have my del sol on a switch in the cabin so i can start it. And my crx will not start with the push button. Im thinking wiring is not soild. thought. Great job on the start up i know the feeling and feels great.
Someone else left a comment saying I wasn't pushing in the brake at the same time as the clutch ( which is true) , my my crx had the old engine I do remember having to hold brake and clutch for it to start. Once I get things situation I'm going to reconnect the JDI and see if it actually starts the k series
Those battery terminals are dangerous and I’ve had them pop off or set screws loosening with vibration. Lugs and plate only for battery connections and ANL type audio fusing.
Bro... they have no idea 😭 . Years ago I stopped keeping track of how much I'm spending on it because it would just make me cry to know the real total. Let's not forget it's no where near done... 😅
I'm screaming at my TV that if you have a jdi ghost key you have to hold the brake to make it start. 😅😅
Oh shit, I think you're right!! I forgot all about that!! No wonder the push button wasn't working 🤦♂️
I'm going to plug back in the push start and try holding the brake to see if it starts. It's been 2 years since I drove the crx so I forgot all about that ...
It even has an exclamation point next to "brake not applied" in haltech. 😊
I was so nervous that I missed obvious red flags 🤦♂️😅
I've been there. Tough to think straight at 3am.😁

So you already know the joy that comes from seeing all your hard work come together. Hell yeah! I ready want to tidy up the inside of the crx now 👍

That Oil Dipstick Is Very Cool Looking. Good Job On Figuring It Out.
It looks cool but kinda a pain in the butt to deal with. Thank you for watching

I felt your same excitement level when the fuel pump finally kicked on. 😅 Congratulations on getting it running. ❤
It definitely caught me off guard!
Bro, your channel is criminally underrepresented by the algorithm. I only started catching your videos a couple of days ago.
Thank you, unfortunately the algorithm doesn't like me 🤷♂️
Congrats man! Been following the journey since you got the CRX. Big milestone.
Thank you! It definitely is, next I'm pushing for the first test drive! 💪

Congratulations bro. All down hill from here. Can't wait to see it all come together.

@@themechanic6117There are two types of Bosch LSU widebands so make sure the ECU supports the one you buy.
Jonathan, cover the red power cable that is attached to your alternator with a rubber booth.
That's a good idea. I'll try to source one of those covers and a proper terminal for the battery positive 👍
I'm so happy for you bro, great great job next it's a test drive 👏
Thank you, yes the next thing I'm aiming for is the first test drive! I need to get the clutch working . 😁 should be fun
Yes it will start 7 years should say it all
Slow and expensive process but it's getting there 👍

Yeah I know, they will get changed out. It was just temporary for the first start. I don't trust those terminals for anything
Hey mate I’m from Australia home of haltech give them a call ask for Fernando he will help you out and log in remove and sort it
That would be amazing! I need to finish getting everything setup and then I'll be doing that fir sure, thank you for that 👍
Hey brother can you tell me what is this line name or how do I order coming from my nissan altima 2016 don't know how to send you a Picture
Comes out from the transmission oil cooler and has a thermostat that broke can you tell me or help me pz
Battery voltage seems low on the haltech?
Around 12.5v without a engine running ? That's normal
Congrats! Great job!
Thank you, much more work to do !
Big update... yes wiring is a pain in the ass ! Tuning is a pain too.
Yeah that was one hell of a update lol . It was necessary
What kind of headers

Jonathan, i replaced my oem hard lines with stainless steel lines. Is that a safe repair?
Yeah it should be fine as long as there's no leaks
