I remember I started watching his content when I was an early teenager. As I got older I realized how painfully cringey and unfunny the sketches were and it just kind of ruined the reviews for me
Not that my sense of imagination sucks but I had trouble trying to imagine what Tony looks like in the book. All I thought of is a shadowy silhouette figure appear from the fog. Never thought of the Encyclopedia Brittanica kid tho. LOL
Sadly, the book version is kinda like the miniseries version. No wonder Stephen King hated Stanley Kubrick's version....... HE SO JELLY!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@scottylewis8124 and btw, you don't have to like EVERYTHING in your fandom. I like Stephen King too but he has flaws too. EVERYONE DOES! Nobody's perfect. There's always a hit and miss. The book and Stanley Kubrick version but this miniseries sucks is an example.
@@DistractedGlobeGuy I’d say Frank Darabount is probably the best in terms of both book accuracy and being a good movie. But he adapted his prison dramas, not horror
Scatman Crothers is a better Dick Halloran. Cuz this one looks like a generic pimp character from Harlem Nights. Now that I care about that movie anyway😒
And also, that actor who played as Grady that also played Alex Delarge's father in A Clockwork Orange is better than THIS version of Grady. I mean look at him! This version of Grady don't look like himself at all. Just some ugly guido who looks like Lips from that Dick Tracy movie with all that pale, cornyass ghost make-up on. BLECH! 😖
Funny how the kid actor plays as Danny in this shitty miniseries says "uh-huh" cuz he did play a kid named "Uh-Huh" from that 90s Little Rascals movie 😆
Yeah well I can't stand his attitude bitching about the "power of love" and princesses. I mean, does he EVER get laid or is he cold-hearted? And as for some girls being a princess, WHO THE FUCK CARES?!? 🤦🏼♀️
@@Joey7Z7Horror I see. I'm sorry if I sounded rude, I just don't think they're funny, neither are the girl and the black guy. But if you like them, more power to you.
@@matthewrose4797 it's all good. It's very odd and specific to mention but I personally did like the ending sequences for another reason because Doug openly talks about how he finds what I remember what was AVP Requiem and thinks it was overhated. Even with his flaws, it’s amazing how much taking out the skits alone improves it.

IKR! Most of his skits are leading nowhere
The sketches were entertaining in this though
Damn... almost 20 minutes cut from the original video. This is E P I C
12:57 This pretty much sums up his sketches.
Also, the axe is scarier than a croquet mallet. I mean, a croquet mallet looks like a comedy weapon like in cartoons and Harley Quinn
Didn't know the original Shining was such a comedy! A wasps nest in the kids room and the dad didn't check it out first?! Oops!
Now try making a skitless The Wall review

Already did ;)
The weird thing is that the Doctor Sleep movie works as a sequel to any of the two film versions or The Shining.
Explosions don't kill ghosts. The Shrek short "The Ghost of Lord Farquaad" demonstrated that fire kills ghosts 🤣
that kid!!!!! with the mouth shaped like the St Louis Arch....ENOUGH already
He had an overbite.

To be fair, King wanted this version to be more faithful to the book.
Scotty Lewis I most certainly agree and it was a good thing too. The book had more depth than Stanley Kubrick’s movie.
And that's why the best Stephen King adaptations are always the ones that Stephen King has no direct part in making.
Doesn’t excuse poor effects, acting, and pacing.

@@robertlauncher ah yes, my favourite prison drama: _The Mist._
It kinda loses something when you’re not seeing him descend into madness the whole review like Jack Torrance.
Oh how cute, Stephen King cameos as Cab Calloway

This would be perfect for a Jontron episode!

It’s objectively not scary
