Got your point and I understand where you coming from but I think the best practice is to follow the owners manual and that’s how they state it there ✊🏽
Just brought my new bike home yesterday and noticed it seemed a bit choppy, going to check the chain tension now! Your accent is fine, keep up the good work! Will be checking in from time to time to see how you and others are getting on with the new Himalayan!
In the hand book they say park on level ground. They show a picture with the center stand up with the 35-40 mm slack.. The best way to confirm the chain is not too tight. Take the guard off the front sprocket get a bit of string put a loop in one end put a bit of rod/Screw driver in the in the gear box shaft hole pull the string tight with it aligning with the center of the wheel spindle you will now have to raise the rear wheel so the swinging arm spindle center line, aligns. At the point GB sprocket swinging arm spindle and rear wheel spindle align this is the point the chain is the tightest. ( I took all the pre load off the spring and used a tie down strap to get the suspension to compress. I set my chain so I could move it about 15mm in this position. If your chain is too tight it will cause premature failure. Mine was too tight when it was returned from service !!! and the gear change was not smooth.
@RideWithManDeep With your accent You can travel to any country in the world and speak English with 100% confidence. I hear this kind of accent, only from Indian origin people born and brought up abroad or people who lived abroad for many years.
@@pravasie absolutely mate, I was living in Australia for about 5 years and working there in hospitality, I had the chance to talk to many different people from different countries and not a single person commented on my accent, in fact they used to think that I belongs to some parts of their homeland. It’s only people from India here on TH-cam who has a lot to say about my accent. Anyways, thanks for the support again
@RideWithManDeep No wonder, bro. If I only hear you speak without watching your videos, I won't believe that you are a indian. You don't have even 1% indian accent in your English. Living in Australia made your English great 👍
Nice work, this is always a pain in the ass work and doing it with camera rolling is another pain. Good job, looks like you're a stickler for details, which is a good thing. But these factory markings a not that accurate on both sides, so your brake disc might rub against the pads a bit, so that in fact should be your lookout on the other side, rather than the guide markings. If the disc is rotating freely, then you are good to go. Good job. 😎 Also buy some proper tools for home use, tool kit is only for on the go adjustments.
Cheers mate. Everything you said makes proper sense. Agreed with you on the disc rub thing but fortunately this didn’t happen here, else I would have to do alignment using string method. A little tight on budget and got other things to invest in “related motorcycle” so keeping the tools in bucket list for now. ✊🏽
Not sure what mark you talking about exactly, could you please leave a time stamp so I can look exactly where you think it happened. The paint job on the motorcycle is as good as it gets but if you do hit metal with metal repeatedly or with intense force of course the paint would wear off ✊🏽 cheers
No that’s not cuz of bad paint quality, that was my fault. I pulled the Allen key bolts back while the axel wasn’t much loose hence the paint wore off in that area where the axel was initially installed 🙏
I fully agree with Mandeep. They dont pay attention. Sometimes they dont even know the right slack amount. Trust me, noone can take care of your machine better than you.
hi sir in how many km once we have to do chain adjustment ?? and i have ride 1200 km till now in ODO AND I AM FACING RIGHT SIDE PULLING when we take off both on tha handle any sollution ?
I will be getting a call back from RE Head office today only and will let you know about the right side pulling issue as I and many others I know are facing the same ✊🏽 but RE IS WITH US
Get it checked if you’re sure of your doubts. Take the test ride bike for a spin at the dealer and if the same happens in that too don’t worry too much about it.
It’s with all the REs and it’s okay as long as it doesn’t increase with time. Mine actually reduced at around 1300kms . As long as you are doing engine break in properly for first 2000km the vibrations and valve noise remains so minimal and I love it ❤️
You dont have to be so precise with chains . The way you are doing it looks like you are adjusting the timing chain . Just feel the chain brother and you will understand
Nice video but one correction, adjust chain slack first keeping axle loose, match marking on other side, tight axle nut and done. Don't go with RE owners manual too, refer factory msnual, they do make lot of mistakes, sometimes they just copy things of other bikes.

This gentleman speaks English without the stupid Indian accent. His English is truly good. He didn't shake his head left and right simultaneously like you do when you speak your broken English 😂😂😂
my sincere appreciation for creating this video. It’s incredibly helpful for those who may not be familiar with chain adjustments. Your clear explanation and demonstration make it easy for viewers to understand, even amidst background noise.👍
It's actually good. I'm from Europe and most of the videos about this motorcycle are from India, but this one is the only one I can listen to without getting irritated.
@@malakandar 🙏 appreciate that my friend. I hope you also got the information you was after, plus, do check out “bigbearbangalore” he is from India as well and keeps the videos to the point. There are a few riders who makes interesting content in India. Do you ride or make videos as well?
The best practice is to adjust the chain after you remove it from the main stand. This will give you accurate measurements.

Yah man, very helpful. May be just a tip here. Parakeet was making a havoc in the background. A little irritating. Anyway, good video
Thanks for the demo ,question what is that guard for on the rear wheel
What guard? Mud guard, saree guard, chain guard
If you are talking about the little guard just below the rear sprockets, it is called toe guard!!
That's a requirement by law in India - a saree guard, it is supposed to prevent clothing from getting tangled in the wheel.

The screw lets a mark on the swing arm when you adjust the chain. Is it due to a bad painting quality ?

Hey Mandeep, The best way is to take it to service center and ask them to adjust coz we do some mistake while doing and it can harm alignment too
Indeed but thankfully I have done it so many times and used to it now. At service centre they won’t pay much attention as they have load of work ✊🏽
