Borrow a bra from you wife or girlfriend. When you lay down to sleep, hang it from your vent window or someplace visible. It is their signal that one of them is in your truck and you will be left alone. A large dog that hates strangers works as well. My used to sit up in the seat all night and "smile" at passers by. When my girlfriend was with me ,she would answer the knock and ask them how much for the both of us. They always ran and never came back. Vickie was a 6' tall kinky haired redhead....a Viking Wench if you will. God , how I miss that Woman. She will be waiting for me at Bifrost when it is my turn to cross over.

Back in the ole' days, those of us who chose not to utilze the service of lot lizzard's. Utilized a napkin with a wee bit of clean greese on it, balled it up and placed it in an area on the outside near the door of the truck or on the tarmat along side of the door of the tractor in which a lot lizzard would noticed and assume the drive had already been serviced.

That's their pimps sitting in the cars with them and forcing them to go over and knock on your truck. They dont care about you they want the money and if you call the cops you might wanna leave because if they find out you're the one that called the cops it'll bring trouble your way in that area.

One thing I find really annoying is that there’s really nothing that can be done to get them off permanently. For the women who do it and the men who exploit them by the time you get that long there’s very little hope to rehabilitate them.
They’re usually there for a reason and it’s usually drugs, fiending too hard even for work in a kitchen or construction. For some of the girls it really isn’t their fault; untreated personality disorders or schizophrenia can absolutely destroy someone, but the guys who exploit them are just plain evil. Another subset are stealth trans or lesbian youth who got kicked out by their families and either this is their survival or they got picked up by a supposed paramour who is now pimping them. These are the most likely to make it off the streets as they’re true victims of circumstance who still have enough wits about them to make the right choices and escape.
I don’t know if you can rehabilitate the pimps. It’s easy work that comes with plenty of fringe benefits. It takes a certain malignant personality to be a pimp.
Our remedies for the situation are woefully unfitting. Many states have a crime category they call “moral turpitude”, which is like basically saying someone is a total degenerate completely without morals. Even without the sex crimes rap that comes from police involvement, this makes it extremely difficult to find good employment for the girls even if they do get off the drugs or finally get the psych aid to be able to lift themselves out of it. Help does exist the problem is for virtually everyone who receives it first comes with the mass handicap of needing to be arrested and then go to court for it. It’s like if job programs required to amputate your right thumb first.
The craziest thing is that there are some people who are just scummy and can’t resist the call of the streets. You can offer them diversion programs, hospitality, job placement, educational initiatives, all kinds of benefits and aid, and they’ll still go back to the streets, no matter what you do.
During my first time in Münich as a 17 year old, my older cousin said check this out.. we pulled into an off road lot at night into a field of RVs with red lights on the doors… and beautiful German blondes giving me the eye from the front seat. It was a few miles from Dachau concentration camp too.

Cops don’t care unless it’s a serious crime involved.Back in NY there was truck stop that was dubbed “Lollipop Stop”.All that stopped when the county decided to build a visitor center/law enforcement station.This was on the eastbound side and the westbound side was totally closed off.
You talking the New York City area ? If so always avoid that Vince Lombardi rest area at the top of the NJ turnpike. They will knock on your doors all night. You can't even get sleep on the outside road that runs around the parking lot. That place you either leave with an STD or robbed. Buddy I worked with stopped for morning coffee and got robbed by a little kid. He gave the kid all his money he said because the kid was shaking so bad he thought he was going to pull the trigger just out of being scared.
Thinking about becoming a trucker and didn't know what a lot lizard was. So now I do. That's so 😝. Only did 3 years of OTR never once heard a knock. Now maybe I'm just that ugly they left me alone. Or just to damn tired at the end of the day to wake up to the sound of knocking. (had 3 alarm clocks in the truck to wake me 2 set to the same time one 10 minutes later up in the cab that I would have to get up and shut off)

Do you recommend or is it necessary to go through a CDL class that pays for your class up front and puts you in a job where you pay them back? Or are there companies that will hire you with a CDL without any otr training and train you? Just curious if the 2500 is worth the class or not and I already have my permit and can pass the driving test.

If you could take the test without going through a truck driving school that's a good thing. I've done it myself it's a little bit harder to get hired by people cuz a lot of companies want 6 months to a year experience. Don't get frustrated you'll find a company that'll hire you it might not be the best job but you'll have your experience without paying $2,500 or driving for a company that takes money out of your paycheck. Stay away from Prime Transportation out of Springfield Missouri and National Carriers out of Liberal Kansas

I know exactly where you were at, they are also real bad on down towards I-240 around the Love’s station. I see them every time I go to work up and down 78. As someone said below, if at all possible stay somewhere just outside of Memphis, this side you were at is one of the more bad places there is.
