What a perfect location to come and capture the nice sea landscapes looks absolutely cool.

I am usually happier NOT getting the iconic shot and go for something more unique or memorable and that can't be compared!

M and I enjoyed the vid. My father's favorite was at that park. We enjoyed the O Coast also. Be well.

I always like to shoot the iconic shots because it gives me an easy way of benchmarking my own shots against others that I really like... especially from a post-processing perspective.

Interesting! I think I've never really leaned on extensive post-processing in my photography, so that's not something I would have considered. Do you find that that approach leads to your photos looking too similar in style to the photographers you're benchmarking against? Or are you able to just consider what they're doing, while still ending up with something unique?

@@BrianLackey my opinion is that post-processing is just as important as the capturing of the image in-camera... regardless of how much or how little an image is processed. I use the iconic locations more as a learning tool for myself than being too concerned with getting something unique.

I am almost always reluctant to get up and go but I cannot think of one time I have regretted doing so.

I appreciate you sharing the struggle about getting up early. I once heard the saying: "Show up, show up, show up, and then the muse will show up too." That being said, getting enough rest is key. So there's the dilemma.

I often feel that way too. I see the same exact shot of the same thing so often that I just don’t have the desire to do that. Instead I go for detail shots or more abstract compositions.

You are an insanely talented photographer and videographer Brian..... So you can definitely remove that one from your list of reasons why not to get up early in morning. 👌🏻
And I love your coffee cup!
    I concur... 🌲

Thanks Ann! I'd say 98% of the time my brain agrees with you on that, but occasionally those pieces of self-doubt creep in. Not often, but felt important to include that in the video to keep it real and all.

Absolutely@@BrianLackeyand I'm glad you included it because your honesty and realness is a breath of fresh air and a rare find these days.

less stereotypical? Originality is just as good as getting a view that is popular
