imagine proxy nexus in their base and building the mothership in their base. seems impossible but would be hilarious.
i like the harstem strat, rush the mothership and recall army from home in the enemy base.(witth a warp prism among the units so you can get even more troops once inside)

@@roberts.wilson1848 Don't know if harstem did this, but bringing some probes as well to build batteries and cannons and powering them with pylons/warp prism could be the omega lulz recall.

Build a proxy Nexus in their base.
Build an army and Mothership at your base.
Nexus Recall the Mothership to the proxy Nexus.
Mothership Recall your army into the enemy base.

dude the mothership is sick with the tempests. The motherships powerful abilities get the enemy to back up and the tempests get some easy picks with the huge range as they back up

I mean, it doesn't seem that good to be honest, such a huge investment for such little pay off, you lost 4 in that 1st match it might have been easier to just spam stalkers (i know its all toss do but it is what it is)

Agreed, time warp was always a last ditch burn energy before you die ability but now that it's on cooldown, you can fire it off so many more times.
Not exactly. Less health, nerfed Cloaking Field, nerfed Mass Recall, nerfed Time Warp. It did got a buff in some points but also got a nerf and more nerf at the same time. Early to Mid games sure its gonna be better but the changes has more impacts to Mid-Late to Late Game where its tech tree and position matters more its a nerf than a buff. Its more like a Mothership Core but not the same. I have used Mothership so much that I know how the new patch affects it. Well possibly affect it.
The lateral acceleration and movement speed buff was nice what it needed troughout the years. No energy means spells can't be denied by EMP or Feedback though cooldown has its cons like no energy means no Double Casting of same spells.

@@uberculexNot exactly. You need 60 seconds before you can use another one. This Time Warp is also weaker at smaller radius and 20% less effective. It does have lesser delay so its more less missable. Casting 2X Time Warp mattered a lot in many games it can't be done here. It cannot be denied by EMP or Feedback unless MS gets destroyed. Mothership matters a lot in later part of ghe game this one clearly looking not better at those situations. I had used it so much so I know how the patch will possibly affect it.

Hey Uthermal, I noticed a solution to your stargate/robo problem. Warpgates have a unique hotkery (W by default, shown above you minimap next to the F2 key) so you can free that slot up in the late game.
I don't understand hot keying the warpgates. I love the W hot key

I have an idea for a hilarious cheese play with Protoss:
Stock up excess minerals gradually over the course of the game until you have a really high amount. Make your opponent think they are winning. When they expect you to do an all-in, move your probes into their base and just lay down an absolutely abominable amount of photon cannons.

On the Cyclone, I saw PiG's coverage of the patch notes and with your game, one has to ask. What is the purpose of the Cyclone? Anti-air? Mobile harass? Because marines cover both of these as is (especially with dropships).
Cyclones just seem like a unit that wants to be many things and is impossible to balance due to.
cyclones would be alright if they didnt fucked its range so bad... it would need to be 11 or 12 to be useful with the changes in its base stats and upgrade tpath

It *was* a good defensive specialist unit with lock-on and outranging. Now it is just a worse marine/marauder for a mech composition, sort of like a more expensive roach that can't tank as much
mothership is good? then here's a challenge:
all units are allowed, but they can only attack while invisible. exceptions: units revealed by the enemy, cannons, probes, mothership. maybe "dark" archons for defensive AA, if necessary.
The Mothership is crap. I wish they would just replace it with the Arbiter. Ravens have Interference Matrix. Zerg Infestor has Neural Parasite. It would balance things out if Protoss had a somewhat similar spell caster...like Stasis

I still dont see how the mothership is that good. Saying you got the cloaking field plus bubble is just the same as before, only before the cloaking was always active. And now the mothership dies much easier, which it was already pretty easy to kill anyway. Like I think it is getting some good effect in these games, but I don't see it doing anything now that it wasn't able to do before.... except die quicker.

The new mothership sucks, it dies so much quicker because it has lower health. The only advantage is you can build it quicker and use all abilities immediately. I'm surprise the opponent had no observers in the final engagement.
i want to see viper that can use parasitic bomb on ground units :C

But genuinely. I think it is really easy in starcraft to act without thinking because you are pulled in so many directions by the general chaos of the game. So the clarity to stop and say, "that is a bad choice" is legit wise.
Imagine if you actually target fired the Nexus instead of killing two probes

Hi uThermal, I have to ask why has there never been a Mech to GM Series or I have never seen you play Mech vs. Protoss game ever (With Hellbat Tank as the main units). I'd really like to see this since it is my favorite playstyle. Love your videos anyway, thanks!
Because it can't be done. Mech is just terrible against Protoss.
