Aap ki Yaad Aati Rahi (Official Video) - ft. Murad Ali Khan | Uday Kamath | Diptanu

We present a new ghazal written as an homage to Makhdoom Mohiuddin's original "Aap Ki Yaad Aati Rahi" and Faiz Ahmad Faiz's tribute composition. Following their footsteps, this "hum-zameen" ghazal written by Shaayer Maykash (Uday Kamath), maintains the same meter (behar), rhyme scheme (qaafiyaa), and refrain (radiif) - creating a third link in this chain of poetic conversation.
The original ghazal gained fame through the 1978 film Gaman, with Jaidev's composition and Chhaya Ganguly's voice. When Makhdoom passed away, Faiz spent a night crafting his response on the same zameen. Years later, inspired by Radhika Chopra's masterful concert renditions blending both versions, we've added our voice to this tradition.
Our composition features a fresh melody, composed by Sarangi Nawaaz Ustad Murad Ali Khan and sung by Diptanu Das, while honoring the emotional depth of its predecessors.
This is our humble tribute to the original song, adding a new layer to this unique chain of artistic inspiration.
