I am doing the same thing but it doesn't work. Why?? I draw a retangular area.I chose the retangular shape on the screen and clicked with reshape tool on the path. Then ı clicked ctrl and clicked again there but it didn't work
I think I know the problem: You need to click once with reshape to make a point. Then use A tool (direct selection) to select JUST that one point. Then go back to the reshape tool and click/drag the point. Hope this helps!
@@GDHT The Ctrl or Cmd to toggle back to a selection tool works with the last selection tool you used, this has to be the direct select tool for your keyboard shortcut toggle to work
Sorry for an earlier comment telling you about telling us what the shortcut keys are. This one you do tell us. I know I'm a teacher and sometimes I remember to say things and other times I don't. :)
Kaylene Dawn That’s OK, I know it’s frustrating when the teacher doesn’t mention them! I’ve started putting them in everything in now 😃 but these old ones... TH-cam doesn’t allow us to edit them after the fact.
Hmm, I just tested it again in Illustrator 2022, and it still works the same way. Are you sure you have a closed path (You can hit CMD Y or CTRL Y to see your path better)? If you're still having trouble, you can send over the file: howtographicdesigner@gmail.com
I seriously need to stop using my Wacom when recording videos, because it looks like I'm spazzing out! It's not necessarily fast, just spazzy. Haha! But if I record with touchpad, no problem!

@@GDHT I wrote you another question about all of the shortcut keys. Did you see that?
Kaylene Dawn I think so - the one about shift x? That shortcut is to switch fill and stroke of the selected object.
this is really helpful, I like the tip about spirals, this tool only seem intuitive for open paths
I agree. Thank you!!

You're welcome!
It doesnt work for blob brush? It is moving whole line when im tryin
The blob brush creates closed shapes, so you'll need to watch the second part of the video for that. :)

InkScribe and PathScribe from Astute Graphics make for great alternatives with more control - if this is something you do a lot :)
Hmm, will definitely look into those. Astute Graphics puts out some awesome plugins!!
I tried everything you said for a closed object and it didn't work.

This is actually addressed in the video - did you watch the whole thing?
@@GDHT ooohhhhhhhh ok sorry i went off to bed before i could finish thank you it worked!
@@_end3rguy_ awesome!!
2:44 what on earth did you say there?
"And now, when I let off, I'll be back on the Shaper Tool." So when you release CTRL or CMD, you'll toggle back to the Shaper tool.
@@GDHT Got it, thanks!
Hey buddy use the CC button....!
dear lord stop moving the damn cursor around!
Haha! When I was recording these back then, I used a Wacom tablet. I switched to a mouse exactly for that reason!
My eyes hurt. Stop movign your cursor so fast! :) Just kidding, nice tut

@@GDHT Test it out. :) It wont hurt, but it is kind of distracting, yeah.
@@mrhristv I already have a few videos using the track pad but I just love my Wacom so much! And...I also forget. Hehe
