Yo great video man! I am on the other side of this and made 100k working for Schneider while cutting expenses, having 420 dollar/month room rent w/ a paid off car and now I drive fuel tankers and am home daily making 80k+. I ended up putting 100k down on a house since i knew it was a good deal and i wanted to keep my overhead low, im not sure if that was better than just doing 20% down and investing the rest but i dont regret it. I am able to continue saving a lot now that my mortgage is 900/mo at 27, im on track to be a millionaire by 40 at the rate I currently invest. Anyways man, if you ever wanted to chat or need any advice from someone whos done it, I could add you on discord or something to talk about it, lmk, I'd love to help, it sounds like you got your head in the right place for big future gains!
Good video. I've always had a budget and tracked my expenses. But since getting into trucking. I really have not had to budget. I just down sized like you can not believe. So i just save save save. All i have is a phone bill. 😅
I did the same thing, I live inside the truck, 2 - 3 working days covers my monthly expenses. Except you’re getting super underpaid for OTR work brother. I’m in car hauling, on a slow week I gross $3,500. Typical week is $4,000 - $4,500 as an employee. Look into it
nice bro, I salute you for sharing and being transparent on this video,I have the same game plan with the trucking stuff too lol! allocating 4K a month after living expenses is a blessing, I'm hoping I can do the same with C.R England, let's keep grinding and like you say, make the sacrifice in time OTR worth the while in Financial freedom which = time freedom to spend with loved ones in the near future.
Way to go! You are launching yourself ahead in life. Get it out of the way early and harness the compounding . Sacrifice early for coasting from there on. Speaking of which have you heard of "Coast Financial Independence"? That's what I'm working on, at 40, haha
@@ianelbert i bet. The Fioneers are making a lot of cool content about ways to go about life that is enjoyale along the way rather than the normal way of intense deprivation until total FIRE. The coast FI is excellent version of that kind of thing and the younger you are the lower your coast FI number is so yours is probbaly super low amount
You mentioned gym membership … so I’m inquiring getting my CDL and getting out of accounting.. I’m a big gym guy… is it even possible to hit the gym 3 times a week being OTR ?
Great video. Wishing you the best! As much as I’m rooting for your financial goal, I also want you to have some fun every now and then. Obviously you are so much committed to your goal, but you are not a machine…take care of yourself sometimes!
Yes absolutely! I try to make the most out of the time I do take off. I backpacked Europe for 3 months last year, and now I’m motivated to get to a financial position where I can travel a lot more without worrying about running out of money. Thanks for the support!
Brother , get your endorsements. Come haul fuel OTR . You’d be hitting that goal sooner . I don’t live in my truck but I know guys who do and bring home 2500+ a week .
Hey Ian im planning on truckin and savin too. I was wondering if its possible to eat healthy and exercise while out on the road? Also how old are you if you dont mind me asking? Love your content brother, thanks for posting your videos.
Thanks! I’m 26 years old. And yes it’s definitely possible to have a healthy lifestyle OTR, but it’s not necessarily easy. Diet/ keeping calories low isn’t too difficult if you have good discipline around food, or naturally don’t eat a lot, but finding motivation and time to exercise is the hardest part for me
Can I have your contact so that we can talk because am trying to get into the truck job, I have my permit , and also are you a lease driver or company driver
I put a hundred bucks in it like a month ago lol. My plan is to have a large relatively safe portfolio before I put significant money into something as volatile as cryptocurrency
