The fact they even put the subtitles as Gaeilge is class
They have such range, their songs have influence from classic hip hop to dance/house. I’m flying to Philly to see them next week!
Be safe, that city is a mess.
Legend I went to them in Dublin it was unreal. Enjoy
I live in philly im from derry if youre not street smart u will get rolled! Great city just be careful the same way u would be at home!!! Dont follow any strangers down alleyways AS IF U WOULD! You will be fine loads of irish bars in the city but the best ones are in the burbs! Cawleys in upper darby, Rooneys in havertown, Dolans in ridley. Thats only a few there are tons more have fun and be safe 🍻🥃 SLAÌNTE

American here, CA to be exact, been a mad fan of Kneecap since '22 and hyped to be seeing them next month! most Americans don't know how important this is for Ireland, but I respect the shit out of what they're doing for the country! Great job lads, can't wait to watch you guys wreck the set at the Echoplex!
I'll be at The Echo!
They have a serious agent. Class to see them on that countries tv
Aye, whoever is the brain behind the business beyond the actual group, is a pure genius. Some great music coming out of Belfast in various genres. Some incredible metal bands too

Was always gonna be a tough one for the US stage since most of their music is in Irish, but it was a good performance by the lads. Maith thú Kneecap. ❤️🇮🇪

@@henben9215keep your gob shut you spud.
American here, I heard Kneecap being talked about on NPR, specifically about how revolutionary it is for them to be rapping in Irish. They played a little bit of "C.E.A.R.T.A." and I was hooked. I just wanted to learn a little about the area and the language so I could appreciate the Kneecap lyrics, but I ended up getting really interested in the history of Northern Ireland. Really talented guys, I got so excited to see them on the Tonight Show.
Same!
Yeah, huge rabbit hole to go down with Irish history. A lot to learn about! Enjoy!
Read some of Martin Dillon’s books for a scary insight to recent history.
* More importantly, the history of the Island of Ireland, NI is only 101 years old
Im from Belfast , good to see these lads are putting the spotlight on Northern Ireland no matter what side of the fence you are on.
Saw them on my news feeed, chuckled, thought it was tongue cheek, looked them up and BAM 😂
They’re actually good 😮
This was awesome. So important for the language, the nation and the diaspora.
Go raibh maith agaibh a chairde!

They are from the UK.
@@serbkebab2763they’re Irish
@@kitkatandcompany That doesn't contradict the fact they are from the UK.
@serbkebab2763 They have Irish passports! that makes them citizens of Ireland. Which by law makes them Irish. #32 ya know
@@serbkebab2763 The brits are at it again, I see.
Kneecap did well. They won't be everyone's cup of tea for various reasons whether informed or not but from purely a language perspective they're doing somethin most from outside Ireland or the UK have never heard or seen before. Irish is a language meant to be preserved and shared by those who speak it and learned by those willing to do so for whatever reason they like. Sin é
There's been a resurgence in people learning Irish/Gaelic in Montana, esp in the southwestern part, where there are multiple cultural festivals featuring traditional & contemporary music, arts, etc from The Emerald Isle. We're mostly German/Scandinavian here, but everyone hypes up their Irishness lol. Regular average Irish people get VIP treatment here, you're our #1 fave European tourists. One of our early politicians was Irish Catholic & very tough. He let it be known that there would be no bigotry against Irish people. We didn't do great fighting bigotry overall, but the Irish in Montana in 1870 had a very different, much more positive experience than those on the East Coast.
Mixed boy from NY been trying to teach myself Irish for years ever since hearing óró sé do bheatha ‘bhaile on movie the wind that shakes the barley and trying to figure out ur what they were saying when I was like 18. I’ve done some brief living in Ireland volunteering for three month terms for a few years in the Gaeltacht and other spots as well. Great time, it’s hard to learn over here without anyone to speak it with and most people not knowing if it exists or more than céad míle fáilte lol
@@montananerd8244 That's really interesting. Thanks for sharing
@@Devin_Dean Outside of family history ( maternal Great Grandfather born 1900 in Cookstown Tyrone being just one relative I know about) and also hearing Oró sé do bheatha ‘bhaile and Mo Ghile Mear for the first time by Seo Linn and UCD Choral Scholars respectively were the beginning reasons I became interested in learning Irish. I had originally intended to start with learning Scottish Gaelic after my paternal grandmother died in 2016 but I learned that linguistically that might derive from Irish and with the history of both languages being historically suppressed it made sense somewhere in my head to start with Irish My paternal grandfather's side was also Irish but family has no idea where in Ireland his parents were from. I agree it is really difficult to learn with little resources or community around to speak Irish with but with the little that Duolingo and just reading the English-Irish dictionary it's still a good place to start. I have 706 days of Irish Duolingo as of right now and I'm pretty proud of sticking with it. It has done a great deal for my confidence since I wasn't the best student years ago. The Irish Duolingo program needs improving but I'm sure it will get there over time. Oh boy, this got long lol Apologies, I suppose I've become passionate about all of this. A sense of purpose found, even. GRMA for the reply. Take care.

WELL DONE!!!!!!!! yall have got to do another tour in the states. LEGENDS🇮🇪
The boys mmmmm singing what thay feel deal w dat up choky are alh love Belfast. I comming home
The amount of people I've encountered who think that "Irish" just refers to the English language as spoken in Ireland is too darn high, and Jimmy Fallon might have helped reduce that number by booking Kneecap. This is a good thing.
Infinite diversity in infinite combinations and all that.
Lots of negative ignorant comments from people who wouldnt understand the belfast accent even at the best of times in English. What the lads are doing is marvellous. Its a pity their debut didn't go over as well as it could have for rhe american appeal. But its still feckin mighty! Up the lads. Erin agus Kneecap Go Bragh!! Tíocfaidh Ár Lá. Bhí me ag eisteacht ar fadh sé bhlian anois.
There's a decent underground surge of Americans learning to speak Irish which is fantastic. Simply raising awareness that the language can be used properly in youth culture in 2024 is going to help it flourish at home and abroad.
Once the film is released the views on this will shoot up. It’s really very good.
Saw their film at Sundance and loved it! They have definitely got the attention of a lot of people here, those who matter and need to hear their music. It will no doubt have a resounding effect here in the states!
The captioning both in English/Irish is really excellent - just turn on. Impressive how the Irish captioning is done with accented vowels shown.
Total garbage. These guys are talentless. They are buying success using propaganda. If these guys were busking in a street, they'd be stood up by anyone else who'd be raking in the money. There's more talent in the house of pain's big toe.
