I adore this so so so so much but the lyrics at the end are wrong.
“The where and how that has lead to now is here
do we step up the way?”
    It’s:
“The where and how that has lead to now is
with you each step of the way”
But stunning separation! Which options did you use in MVSEP to get this?

I honestly still hear," is here, do we step up the way" There's a pretty strong h sound and 8 don't hear a y sound for you. Anyhow I used both Msvep sound effect, dialogue, music models, in combination with Moises' sfx, dialogue, music models.

@@isolatedstems Do you find you prefer BandIt Plus/V2 or MVSep Demucs4HT DNR for the dialogue and background noise removal? Or do you use a different separation type?
I have actually been working on doing this song myself on and off for a long while! You beat me though and I’m happy I lost because this sounds amazing lol
I’m not trying to rag on you so I hope you don’t take offence! As someone who has been constantly looping this song and cleaning the sound up, I’m just throwing in my two cents as someone passionate about this and honestly I’m hyped that both our separate attempts at this managed to get the exact same lyrics!
The only other difference in our versions are:
Mine: This town falling down all around me
Yours: The town’s falling down all around me
But even then I had ‘could be The Town’s’ in my side notes and it’s such a minor difference
      And:
Mine: In my heart will be where I will leave this despair
Yours: In my heart will be where I will keep this despair
And I now believe you were 100% correct, it’s ‘keep’
So the same things we both ended up hearing in this verse are:
      --
      -- -- Step __ the way
      And the differences are:
      Here/With
      Do/You
      We/Each
      Up/Of
‘you’ and ‘do’ are perfect rhymes and ‘of’ and ‘up’ both start with a soft ‘oh’ and ‘uh’ so fair enough but to me I can hear a very strong ‘each’ with the ‘ch’ blending into ‘step’.
BUT human beings are flawed, we can hear things very differently and when we hear things over and over again we can make ourselves believe the word we hear is correct. We could both be horribly wrong! But I really want to find out since you hear something so different to me! Personally in my raw audio ‘with’ is very clearly pronounced.
The biggest problem for me is that “Do we step up the way?” Just doesn’t make sense as a sentence. It doesn’t work, it’s incorrect. Though ‘Do we step up?” completely works as a sentence, I will admit.
While “With you each step of the way.” Is an extremely common phrase.
When I struggled I turned to the proper English translation of the Original Japanese version because honestly this song went hard with keeping the lyrics meaning the same. It’s a pretty solid translation into English. For example when I was doing this I SWORE I heard ‘glowing’ not ‘blowing’
And ‘glowing’ COULD work in this verse because it’s also about the light of street lamps but the translation specifically mentions ‘wind’ so therefore ‘blowing’ had to be correct.
      For this verse we have:
Japanese: Whether you make the first or second move, you must move forward, OK!
      Yours & Mine:
You can choose to go first, you can choose to go last, just as long as you move, you’ll be okay
      Japanese:
It's good to rest a bit, I know that
      Yours & Mine:
And rest up as you go, and you can bet I know
      Japanese:
The process of how I've made it up to here is your proof
      Yours:
The where and how that has lead to now is here, do we step up the way?
      Mine:
The where and how that has lead to now is with you each step of the way
So ‘the where and how that has lead to now’ is a very good translation mirroring ‘The process of how I've made it up to here’
And why I think mine is correct is because ‘is with you each step of the way’ also mirrors ‘is your proof’ pretty accurately in terms of meaning in my opinion.
‘The where and how that has lead to now is with you each step of the way’ basically means everything you have done and seen is inside you, showing how far you’ve come. Your experience will always be there with you to guide you along the way.
And that sentiment also reflects the Japanese lyrics. It doesn’t end on a question. It ends on a firm statement of your progress which is what the whole song is about.
Gosh I’m so sorry this was so long!!! I’ve just never talked to anyone about this and got excited. Shissou is one of my favourite songs. I’m not looking to change your mind but I do hope you read my full comment! 💖 thank you for your time!

For me I think I usually find myself running the audio through both and finding the best bits of each. Although I started using the program Moises recently and found that their dialogue sfx separator is also very good. In some places I just isolated the vocals as well as that came out better than using the sfx separator.
To my understanding the song was originally translated and was going to be recorded by Tamaki's English voice actor Vic Mignogna. Vic even has a full version that can be heard on the Wiki page here:ouran.fandom.com/wiki/Sprint#English_Version. It even sound like he did a proper version for the tv edit heard here: th-cam.com/video/JIDThFPDuMI/w-d-xo.html. However the final version used was sung by Justin Houston who was So the version recorded by Justin Houston who was an ADR Engineer at Funimation where the dub came from. His version was used did derive from Vic's original translation which is used as the basis for a lot of lyric videos. There are quite a lot of differences though especially in the second half.
I do hear "this" instead of "the" for the line, " This town falling down all around me".
However for that "The where and now..." link I still don't think I was 100% right about it. Especially if you listen to the isolated vocals here: drive.google.com/file/d/14frCfdiWwgC-HjihQFTDyoUtckq_qmiK/view?usp=sharing. The original line that was translated by Vic was, "That where and how that is learnedt 'til now is each leading step of the way." I kinda heard "The where and how that is learned till now..." here however I thought, "The where and now that has led to now...." did fit better. The second half I'm still not sure on as it sound like Justin is singing a w sound, but it sound more like, "*where* do we step of the way?" and I didn't think that makes sense. You have "is with you each step of the way" that makes a lot of sense, however where "you" should be it sounds like he makes a "d" sound that sound more like "do" rather than "you". It could be that Justin meant to sing "with you each step of the way" but accidently said "do" which is where I got confused. That was some great insight and it's always a pleasure to talk to people about music.

Sorry for some reason I couldn't respond to the other comment so I'll put my response here. "Oh Vics full version is the audio player in the wiki. It sounds like a rough demo and that's where the English lyrics came from that are on the wiki and in that cover version. If you still don't see it let me know and I'll send you a drive link. I do agree your interpretation does seem the most correct and probably was what was supposed to be said, however I don't think that's what was recorded. He probably just messed up the line, but we don't know unless we ask Justin himself. But I'm not sure myself it could be either."
