- Alan Hamel, Radio and Television Arts '54
Alan Hamel's first professional job was as a weekend announcer with CKVR-TV and CKBB Radio in Barrie in 1955. He would eventually log more than 3,000 hours of network television at CBC and CTV, from the popular 1960s children's show Razzle Dazzle, to late-night satire and everything in-between. Moving to California in 1967, he remained involved in Canadian television until 1980. He also partnered with Dick Clark to create a new television series. After meeting the actress Suzanne Somers in 1968, they became partners in life and in business. In 1988, they created the Thighmaster, the biggest selling fitness product in history. He is the founder, chairman and CEO of SLC Industries, which creates, manufactures and markets more than 1,000 products in 186 countries.

Hey Alan, if you ever see this, I remember watching Razzle Dazzle in the sixties with you and Howard, and others... It was a great show and I miss it. Congrats to you for all that you have achieved, press on.
Howard the Turtle FTW!! and I had a crush on Trudy Young even at 6 :p
Cheers from Barrie Ont.!
Thanks Alan, I remember you as host of Razzle Dazzle in Halifax growing up. Fun show, especially with that talking turtle- saying sarcastic remarks about Nova Scotia politicians!
Live on forever !.
I loved Razzle Dazzle

I miss Howard the Turtle.
Tell a friend... that he almost managed to destroy Suzanne Somers' career.
Larry Lee Moniz Glad you remember. He was the money grubber in that family.
No. Absolutely NOT. They were business partners who thankfully were never 'owned' by Hollywood like so many other's. Everything that they did...they did 'together'.
@@lalani888blue OK, they almost ruined her career... together. Satisfied!
Didn't he get greedy and ruin "Three's Company" ?
Yes he did.
No.
Maybe do some research before making such a ill informed comment
