@@SoulReaverVidView This game does have a weird counterbalancing factor where 'nicer' items are larger, though, meaning you can't pick up as many at once. I think the warmhammer is still worth it, but it's worth remembering that often you'll end up only picking up 1 warhammer and 1 dagger, as opposed to picking up 3 daggers and 1 shield. Makes it a less clear-cut choice over games like Slay the Spire, where the number of actions you have per turn is less... messy.
@@falleithani5411 Yeah, this looks very much like a game someone is going to have to pour over the claw mechanics to figure out what is actually useful.
@@falleithani5411 It is also worth remembering that Tom was playing. A man who has a success rate of going left or right in Peglin in the single digits. I'm sure he recognized that big items probably wouldn't fit him well.
Tom taking the dark sword over every other good option ??? Tom specs into armor/spikes and poison and talks about there being too many items... still grabbing extra daggers ??? Tom is an enigma
max claw using things twice is so much better than a 3rd claw because you have unique items; and a very big thing you missed is big shield doubles your block, meaning with just 1 shield you'd gain 90 block.
Claw machine? I wonder what carnival/arcade machine will be transformed into being the core fight mechanism in a roguelite game. How about darts? Or scratching cards? Who knows!
@@Pattoe That could actually go hard, I just like imagining all the stupid things it could introduce that shake up the coins. Like a roach that runs over the pile and the very delicately balanced ones get tipped by it.
I think this is the music from that game Rogue Tower on steam? it's not synced up with the footage anyway edit: I don't think it's rogue tower but it's definitely from something else
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1587 OOOO what a fantastic little game, such a cool idea, and so cute aswell :D. Having the claw be the main Mechanic is similar to that of the Pachinko of Peglin, where in a sense you have some control, but there is an aspects that are out of your control, one example in this setting being how things can slip out of your claw. I would honestly love to see more of this game, looking at the different builds and such, also MOTHS (And god, Strong Moth I really thought would be the death of Tom)
Tom takes the dark sword and every single time has been "no not the dark sword!"
Every single one time it happened
The ways in which these little dungeon crawl games have used other game types as miscellaneous randomization mechanics have gotten pretty wild.
Survives solely by blocking and chooses to remove half his shields. Amazing.
You'll notice he still never ran out of shields...
14:34 Tom really went for a shield and spike build and decided the warhammer wasn't worth his time lol
The warhammer skip made me kind of upset, lol.
Wouldn't be a Tom video, without a healthy helping of misplays
It's like he didn't even see it. He just focuses on 1 or 2 and decides between those
I'm convinced Tom does this 100% on purpose to get people like me to rage-buy the game to correct his misdeeds
yeah did he even read the warhammer? XD
18:05 “Oh my gawd, Strength is Strong”
Dagger: Attack nearest enemy for 6 damage.
Warhammer: Attack nearest enemy for 20 damage and gain 10 block.
🤔
It was insane. lol Normally I'm not a back seater to this kind of stuff, but even a child could have figured that one out.

I'd argue that even if you grab less at once, that sounds loaded enough to be worth it. Sometimes you only get 1 or 2 items anyway

or maybe, hes on a myyyssstteerryyyyy quest!?
Tom was elected to lead, not to read!
@@Blitzkrieger17 Nah, not catchy enough for a title it'll never catch on. 😏
@@cloudsora Is it not catchy enough title? Or maybe you're on Mystery Quest?!?!
This truly is a fantastical game, the claw actually picks stuff up

Throwing rings on bottles.
Or the fishing game.
a darts one, kind of like bingle bingle would be neat
I think a coin pusher game would be pretty good.

What a cool game! I hope to see more (and I'll probably check it out, myself).
The game looks very fun, but it could use some work on the music front.
The music does have quite a lookmumnocomputer-ish vibe.

This is such a cool idea for this type of game
Surprisingly strong claw for a claw machine.
"Strength is strong." - Angory Tom - April 2024
I knew Tom would love this game the moment I saw it.
I love indie games, this is such an unexpected mechanic
Who the hell comes up with these ideas for games? Absolutely brilliant combo that nobody was thinking of
More of this ASAP please 🙏 ❤
18:03 “Strength is strong” - Tom Clark, 2024
This music is MADDENING!
Loved that, really fun concept.

This is so wild. XD What a cool game. Well played.
Me, adding this to my wishlist 15 seconds into the video
They pay him to lead, not to read!
A cool game, though. I like it.
Oh, cool upgrade! But I have the money to reroll!!!
Never change please ;-)
I would love for to see Skul The hero slayer
it looks good, nice game
what a cool twist on these kinds of games , looks like it could be pretty chaotic at times.
haha maybe it's just me, but the music is really hard to listen to, the game-play seems really cool though
yeah even as someone who listens to edm and whatnot the music just does not fit and isn't easy listening at all
It seemed fine to me personally
This music is hard to listen to. this is Bach BWV1052 but sounds like a metallic cover. Doesn’t do justice to the original piece
the music feels very homestuck
"loose 5 health"
It's LOSE
fun game!
bam
This game lacks realism, claw machines cant grab anything ever
This seems like a cool game pitch but it didn't look very engaging.
Third maybe? That's something right?
Gotta say i like the mechanics, but artstyle is a bit of an eyesore
