💘I agree with you on Signals, and in Losing It too. On the studio recording of Losing It, Neil does this wicked roll near the end that he doesn't try in later live recordings. I think it's so fast that he unfortunately had to tame it down, possibly due to it being so difficult. But thanks again, and you keep rockin' the RUSH as well!

Are those Zildjian (Gen16) cymbals electronic, or low volume acoustic? I play Roland TD-6V (double-kick) at church and my CY pads are starting to miss trigger!
@@rogerjones6033 No triggers. The metal is a bit pliable and they have warped slightly over two years, the thinner 18 more so, but not too terribly. Mine have no dents. There are stick marks around the edges. I use oak sticks but I'm not a heavy hitter. Hope this helps.
@@debsmithdrums Not sure why everything says 2 years ago since I just got a debsmithdrums hearted comment alert, but since I'm here I thought I'd update something. Last June after buying my wife something nice with my first SS check, she said why don't you update your church kit? You deserve it! So I got a new TD07 KVX kit to replace my 37 year old PD-21 pads which were also starting to misfire. Long story short, I still had issues with the cymbal pads, especially the hi-hat which this time actually mounted to a real hi-hat stand and moved up and down. Anyways, afer a few frustrating months trying to dial it in I (although always a Zildjian man since 1974 on acoustic kits) opted for a cheap set of Musico Mute Stainless Steel low-volume cymbals and I love them. I DID however switch back to wooden stick since I didn't want to possible break my 37 y.o. Aquarian X-10 lites, and I love it too! I love the warmer tone of your Zildjian L-80's though and may consider switching out. Do they make a China and if so does it sound like one? It's either that or set up a few of my electronic cymbals again in order to get that sound. Thanks!
I know you must get this a lot, “You should learn this or that”, so I’ll join in…Rush’s Signals is a great album to play to, to learn, and to carry on some of NP’s riffs he created on those tracks to other projects or just to have fun with. By the way, there’s a drum fill on “Losing It” that I still can only nail maybe 50% of the time, and I’ve been playing for almost 30 years. Keep up the good work!

I started in 1976. Neil was my idol from the start. All I had was a Remo drum pad and a pair of drumsticks. Learned the 26 rudiments. On a roll after that. Got picked by Mancini to play a concert while in High School. Went town to town weekends playing while in the USAF. Being a percussionist gives you a range of instruments to play. Look at all the instruments Neil had. Anyone can play temple blocks. But he knew where to add them in. I have never been to a Rush concert I didn't learn from. Obviously, this lady has practiced alot. 🙂

They are Zildjian L80 low volume acoustic and work well with the electronic kit

I started in 1976. Neil was my idol from the start. All I had was a Remo drum pad and a pair of drumsticks. Learned the 26 rudiments. On a roll after that. Got picked by Mancini to play a concert while in High School. Went town to town weekends playing while in the USAF. Being a percussionist gives you a range of instruments to play. Look at all the instruments Neil had. Anyone can play temple blocks. But he knew where to add them in. I have never been to a Rush concert I didn't learn from. Obviously, this lady has practiced alot. 🙂
